The full story can be found here and here.
Islamic State (Isis) militants have burned to death 19 Yazidi women in iron cages for refusing to have sex with the sick jihadists, say reports. The horrific slaughter of the women was said to have taken place in the Daesh (Isis) stronghold of Mosul in northern Iraq.

According to ARA news, but not verified by IBTimes UK, 19 of these sex slaves were marched to iron cages in central Mosul and burned to death in front of crowds of people. A local media activist, named as Abdullah al-Malla, said: "They were punished for refusing to have sex with ISIS militants. The 19 girls were burned to death, while hundreds of people were watching. Nobody could do anything to save them from the brutal punishment".
It's such a sad world we live in. What effects do you think this will have on the already worrying issue of Islamophobia and the war on terror as a whole?

Beyond the thin veil of religious occultism these madmen cling to there's not much in the way of any religion here; just pure unfettered evil. What drives these monsters to commit these atrocities is unknown to me; there can't be any logical reason for it other than sick depravity. I dislike war in general - it's hell to all involved - but at the rate this is going it may be unavoidable in this instance. These people are sick in heart and in mind, and they won't listen to reason in most cases.

I think it's kinda sad people are having this fear against Islam. I mean Hitler himself was born a Catholic (and supposedly never renounced his religion), yet why aren't people scared of Catholics? Unfortunately, I think there are much bigger factors involved with the hate towards Islam, but this is neither the time nor place to bring that up.

I'm surprised ISIS even allowed women (or anyone really) to choose between slavery or death. I would've thought they would've done whatever they wanted anyway...

    I can't understand you....
What do you mean It's sad?
Do you mean they shouldn't be afraid of this? I mean they are terrorists...

Saying that all Muslims are terrorists is like saying (to continue on the example I had about Hitler) all Catholics are Nazis, or all Protestants are KKK members. It's illogical and is quite frankly sad, because it shows that people are losing the ability to think for themselves and think objectively.

Losing the ability to think for oneself and not thinking objectively is quite the nature of religion, unfortunately. Especially when it is inculcated to such a degree that ISIS displays.

I don't think there is much more to say about the topic at hand. Barbarism is still with us.

True or not, this is one of the worst things I've heard in a long time. The fact that we're at a point where something like this happening is believable shows how bad things are.

Atrocities like this come at a bad time when the people who could do something, with the power, are feeling uncertain about the future and generally worried about their own lots. The world economy is not on very stable ground, but the most humanitarian thing we in well-off countries could do, that is, providing humanitarian aid and removing people from immediate harm (a.k.a taking in refugees) is something that would require resources (money) that people are afraid of giving because they don't have much hope for a better future and want to conserve what they have.

In general, their rape of the Yazidis and similar had been kept at a slight distance from their more conventional forms of punishment or expressing rage, and hence this needn't be that much of a surprise to anyone. They notably punished others in such ways previously, and likewise have been known for their treatment of Yazidis, etc. As there's already an ISIS thread, etc., this doesn't really seem like a new thing to discuss. It would appear that despite the most earnest attempts of the Goths, the spectre of Rome still looms over the East of the Mediterranean.

Losing the ability to think for oneself and not thinking objectively is quite the nature of religion, unfortunately.
Religious people would generally 'think for themselves' unless there was a God to do this for them - presumably by being them. Likewise, new forms of religions, 'heresies,' Kierkegaards, etc., would generally be quite rare otherwise. Theology has a fairly notable history, even in Christianity, which can generally not be summarised in such terms.

I think it's kinda sad people are having this fear against Islam.
That is one of the conventional uses of terrorism, yes.

Generally people's views of Islam are characterised either by terrorism or tourism.

It will make it more worrysome.

Isis is doing these acts to provoke, make the West make the first attack, so they have the proof of what they think: "The West is an awful place full of corruption" Which I have to admit, the West is not really innocent either.

Point is though, Isis WANTS the west to hate them, so they can spread their propaganda: "It's them versus us!". The current situation with the refugees is near perfect for Isis. "Look at Europe, they won't let you in because you are not an European, but we (Isis) are your brethren; we'll take care of you and your family and together will fight the evil West." If we keep hating on the Islam as a whole, keep treating refugees bad; IS get's what they want.

If we show no anger or a declaration of war after another terrorist attack and welcome the Muslims into our countries, IS will lose ground.. but the current situation with extreme right parties taking hold in more and more EU countries is exactly what IS wants. Basically, the racist people are doing IS their work.

This is true rape culture. Absolutely horrendous.

Religion or no, that region of the world is growing more unstable by the day and the sad thing is, although taking in refugees is humanitarian, what isn't humanitarian is agents within ISIS and the like disguising themselves as the very refugees they're creating to infiltrate their targets.

You know before Bush II invaded Iraq non of this bs was occuring. It was like the US just wanted this bs to occur. Seriously there is no Isis and these are just double agents from first world nations who are sick in the head like that. Again there is no Isis already. Western powers are just screwing with peoples heads making everybody into fools.
I bet we actually grew up with some of these folks AKA the last generation bs.
