Here is where you can discuss a Pokémon/Trainer separation in "Island of the Giant Pokémon."
My review to come forthwith.
My review to come forthwith.
OH! This is the episode where Team Rocket recite the motto to Giovanni!? I *love* that scene, me and my brother laughed for ages because
Jessie calls Giovanni collect - TR recite the motto - Giovanni hangs up. Giovanni PAYED to listen to the motto XD
Probably the motto music sounding like it was coming from the phone, even though we were on JJM's side of the line XD No, Gio paying to hear the company motto, definatly XD
Still, he still has that digital distorted effect, even on a phone. Man, paranoid, much? Heh.
You know, I thought that voice was actually his true voice thanks to that.
Also, didn't he sound very similar to Andross in that scene? I mean, maybe I'm overthinking it, but he did sound quite similar to him (I mean, the deep, digital-esque voice did sound somewhat similar to him, especially in his Star Fox 64 incarnation)
And, actually, for some strange reason, I thought that "Pokemon Land" was actually a secret (ie, illegal and covert) military base/weapons testing bed designed for Team Rocket use, and not a theme park. I mean, the mere fact that the vast majority, if not ALL of the supposed "Theme Park Mechs" seemed to be actually trying to KILL the main characters (both the heroes and villains), as well as their pokemon [especially evident with Zapdos, Moltres, Blastoise, and Charizard, as it was almost obvious that they were targeting them. though the others are debatable), rather than merely strolling along and they just so happened to be in the way, not to mention that Team Rocket, if not directly created the nightmarish island, definitely had a hand in creating in it. Giovanni was visibly upset at it's destruction, and I don't think it would have upset him AS much, if at all, if it was merely just a cover to his plot, (the weapons bed, I mean). This seemed to directly tie in to his plot to conquer Pokeria (In case you guys are wondering, that's my name for the Pokemon World, and I got the name by combining Pokemon and Corneria.).
Anyways, for the episode itself, pretty good. One thing I do wish, however, is that they explain the fate of Mecha-Moltres and Mecha-Rhydon (since it was implied that they were also destroyed due to Giovanni's exclaimation of "What?! Pokemon Land's been completely destroyed!?", yet they weren't even PRESENT when the Zapdos, Kabutops, Pikachu, Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise Mechanaloids were destroyed.). I mean, yeah, I did write a fan-deleted-scene explaining that plothole, but I think they needed to actually make an OFFICIAL explaination in regards to it, as my Fanfic wouldn't be close to official.
Well, since I mentioned this fan-deleted-scene, I figured I should show the link to it as well... (BTW, I also included Ariel in this [yeah, I know, I like to make super-verses.].), If you want to read it, fine. If not, well, that's fine as well.

Anyways, that's all for now.
That reminds me. To those with access to the Japanese audio feed, did Sakaki sound normal in this one? His previous episode, I understood the audio distortion, as he was on a video screen, so there's some dramatic license to play with, there. Dogasu never quite elaborate on the audio issue, so I'm curious if this is dub-only (I believe it is). I may chat in depth about the issue in the St. Anne discussion, since that's where it began.
Anyway, I need to check on your Andross contention (particularly in timing, as I forget Fox 64 was released), but the parallel is possible. Or, it's one heck of a coincidence.
You thought all that on P-Land? Heh. I did not, though, his owning P-Land made sense, as owning a park for Pokemon enthusiasts is good cover or a legitimate source of income, which he can use for Team Rocket. Gee, wonder how he'd react if he found out that Jessie and James were partly responsible for the park's destruction? Oops.
Yeah, I noticed how the other mechas weren't wrecked, but with everything going on (the reunion, dragging in the other mechas, etc), I just assumed the writers forgot to add it in.
Hey, maybe he'll clarify this when he does the comparison.
Well, if you can, try and download it from Virtual Console on the Wii. For a good point to listen to Andross (I mean, without fighting him), I know that he actually attempts to hack into your comm. device about... ohh, nearly halfway through Area 6 [note, in the Japanese version of the game, I hear that he's actually has a much, much deeper voice, and sounds more scarier.].
Meh, we have differing opinions, but the way that some of the mechanoids were acting made it seem as though they actually WERE attempting to kill them to me.
Also, maybe it was for a legitimate source of income, but then again, it can just as easily be a front for the weapons bed, as well as testing said weapons on unfortunate people on the island (heh, now I'm starting to make it sound like "Metal Gear").
Yeah, I mean, the closest to an official explaination was with the Junior novelization of Island of the Giant Pokemon, which, even then, most people don't exactly count the Junior novelizations as canon to the franchise [in fact, some label them as "authorized fanfiction"], and even IF they were canon, it still neglected to mention Mecha Moltres' fate.
