Islands of the Mist

"What brings you out here?" Alaina asked, glad for a conversation with someone who didn't seem too eager to find out everything about her.... as she was slightly nervous of that. Jolt noticed another Jolteon run off and became quite interested in it, but she stayed by her side.

I walked out on deck after a nap. I yawned and let gligar and espeon out of their pokeballs. I then noticed the mist. Espeon growled, and backed up. I picked her up and stroked her, to calm her down. Gligar climbed up on to my shoulder, but seemed to be ignoring the crowd and the mist.

"I'm a pokemon researcher, and I figured this boat would be a great place to watch and study marine pokemon. but they seem to be troubled by something..." I said calmly, watching a Sharpedo in the water...

Alaina also noticed the Shapedo, it seemed quite distraught. "I think it's this cursed mist. It's like all the Pokemon seem bothered by it. Jolt freaked when it touched her, that's why we moved back here.... to get way from the higher concentration of it." Alaina said quietly. She stroaked Jolteon again, hoping she was okay again.

As the ship moved farther into the mist, Espeon yowled and tried to run, scratching my arms. I let go and she ran off. Gligar seemed a bit frightened now. I put gligar back in his ball and went to find espeon.

An Espeon then came upon the scene. Being of kindred spirit, Jolt reassured the frightened Pokemon and coaxed it over to Alaina. Alaina then held a Puple Pokeblock out to the startled. What she assumed to be it's trainer then came along.

I saw espeon and another trainer and walked up to them. "Espeon, don't bother strangers!" I said. "Sorry about that." I said to Alaina. I picked the frightened espeon up and went back inside and headed to my room.

"It was no big deal," she muttered at the retreating Trainer. Alaina then slumped down against the rails, feeling slightly dizzy. The mist seemed to be affecting her as well as Jolt. What could all this possibly mean?

As I waited for the elevator, I put espeon back in her ball. I felt a bit dizzy and thought it was probablt from the ship rocking. When the elevator got to the floor I was on, I took it down to the Empress Deck (main deck, if youve never been on a cruise ship), walked through the loung, and down the hall to my room. I took the card key from my pocket, and unlocked the door. Just as I began to turn the door nob, I blacked out.

The world seemed to spin around her. Alaina felt like hurling from the dizzyness. Jolt whined, fearing what was happening to its trainer and friend. Alaina's vision was darkening, she couln't see what was happening around her. Voices and sounds got fuzzy and blurred together. Soon enough, she slumped down limply. A blackout overtaking her senses.

Jolt went crazy. It yelped and barked. It tried to shock Alaina back into life. Whining and shivering uncontrolably, Jolt turned to the trainer on the deck. It pawed at Eclipe's feet, trying to get her attention.

"What is it?" I asked, conserned. then I noticed Alania. "what in the world?" I asked, then thought odd.. all the trainers seem to be passing out but me...

IC:
AJ leaned back against the beach-chair on the deck with his eyes closed, and his sunglasses on. He could hear all the trainers talking, and the pokemon getting restless.
"Hm...this mist is certainly causing a comotion. I better check it out. I know, I'll send butterfree or pidgeotto to fly over. DOPE!? Oops- I left both of them with the professor before I left. Okay then, I'll send Vaporeon. BlEHG? I left that one to! Darn it. Well, I could send starmie..."
AJ got up and stretched. The trainers were still walking around, looknig over the side. An espeon ran past, as a trainer soon followed. "Hmm..." He also heard someone say something about a Sharpedo.
"I wonder if this ship has a pokeball transporter..." He got up and started heading for the bridge, when he passed a attendent. "Um, excuse me, Miss."
"I'm sorry, I can't talk right now- that mist is bothering some of the crew, and I have to reasure them. Sorry." She ran off.
"Well, I could'a used some reassuring..." AJ continued walking, and decided that since most of the other trainers had pokemon out, he should have one to. "Wonder why I don't have a pokemon out already-"
"WYNAUT!" Wynaut yelled happily poppingout of it's pokeball. "ERR- it's because of pokemon like you- return wynaut!"
The red beam caught wynaut again. "I swear, these things need a lock'on'm...Go, Starmie!" :pokeball:
AJ's starmie materialized there in the hallway. "Brrrr-"
"Let's go starmie," AJ walked back to the deck, doubting if the captain knew anything more then the crew did. He found an area with a bunch of trainers, "excuse me- Sorry to bother you, but does anyone know if there's a pokeball transporter on board?" AJ's starmie stood next to him, "Brr-Hrhrhr..."

Below deck, third door to the right" i said, not looking over. there wasn't much I could do about alania, and I was still confused over why the mist didn't affect me at all...

Alaina slowly came to again. She looked at Jolt, who began licking her face immediatly. She looked to Eclipse. "What.... happened?" she asked, as though she was recovering from a hang over. She was still dizzy.

"Oh," she said. She slowly rose, not trusting her own two feet. They were close to Valencia now, Alaina could almost see the island through the mist.

I don't get it... why were they knocked out, while I couldnt feel anything at all from the mist... I wondered.. then i said "well, as long as you're okay, then everythings good, right?"

I sat up in the hallway outside my room. It was deserted, as pretty much everyone was outside now. I could not even hear the sound of people in the casino or arcade a few floors up. Still very dizzy, I continued opening the door. I sat on the bed inside and looked out the window, and noticed we were almost there. We wouldn't stop for probably twenty minutes, though, so I turned the TV on to see what was on the local news. The screen was fuzzy, so I turned it off. Quite odd it was, as the reception was fine before we entered the mist. I went back out on deck.

Now that even the TV stations wern't coming in, I really didn't have anything to do. The cruise should come to an end soon, but until then, I would have to go through with this horrible boredom.
