I prefer a normal Eeveelution that is unique for its kind.

I think the answer is both! But if I must pick only one, I'd pick the shiny.
Getting a unique Eeveelution is only a matter of breeding and training (takes time & patience, but not so difficult to do).
But getting a shiny, now that's something special.

RE: PMD - You can be Eevee in the original, but I don't think that's what we're talking about...or are we? *confused*

You can't?! Aww, Eevee is so cute in those games! I have the Red rescue one and I'm always the Eevee, although it's hard to defeat some Pokemon. Do you have the new one?
 
No, it's not out where I live yet. I think it's only out in Japan. (man, I wish I could read Japanese... >_>)

So sad... I'll probably be Charmander, I suppose. I love Charmander... but not as much as Eevee...

hmm not really i beat the english version of pokemon mystery dungen twice and then i sold it but you can evolve eevee into umbreon though.. and i know how....
 
PMD2: Time and Darkness Exploration teams aren't even out in Japan yet guys. And I have both PMD Red and PMD Blue. I have 2 copies of Red though.
 
I've been reading a bit about it on a different website, I wish it would come out soon. >.<

I think I'll choose to be a Skitty, Mudkip, or a Piplup, with a Torchic friend. The problem is Skitty is the normal type, which is hard to choose moves, but Skitty is the cutest other than Eevee. Although Mudkip or Piplup can come in handy with some types of Pokemon. :( This is difficult..I wish they had Eevee!

I know how to evolve them too, but the farthest I got was to the Cloud dungeon or something. It would be kinda difficult to evolve Eevee, becase you need be smart or whatever and get a certain item.
