I honestly need to stop getting so heavily into Higurashi, into all of that backmasking and reversed music...

It's honestly not healthy for me, especially because I'm feeling fairly down as of late, and this stuff's not helping.

So, to counteract it, I'm downloading the Haruhi Suzumiya soundtrack.

Meh, I dunno. :/

Overemersing*1 is what people do when they feel down, no?.... although If i was trying to make myself feel better i'd probably go for a bit of a lighter watch (although seeing a bunch of happy people killing each other might help sometimes) ^_^

I can't actually remember much from the Haruhi soundtrack although it's by the same guy that did two of my three 10/10 rated anime so it's most certainly good.

*1 - I think i made that word up. :/

Haruhi is part of the "Holy Trinity", so it's a favorite.

Also, Madoka 4 is up! GOGOGOGOGOGO!

*Has now turned into the person that waits anxiously for new episodes*

Well the latest Madoka★Magica was as awesomely trippy as ever. But for some reason I have the sudden urge to drink Morning Rescue.

Hmmm and if Haruhi is a part of a "holy trinity" what are the other 2 titles? Clannad might be there if we're talking high school, but I can't think of anything else. The only un/holy trinity i've heard of would be Jump's Naruto, Bleach and One Piece trio.

In terms of best selling manga.

One Piece, Dragonball and Kochikame. :U

Also, I lol@people saying One Piece, BLEACH and Naruto are a trilogy.

[PokeCommunity.com] J-E Discussion

One Piece: 158 000 000+
Naruto: 90 000 000+
BLEACH: 56 000 000+

Kochikame is still serializing, why isn't that apart of the trilogy? :U

The Holy Trinity has nothing to do with sales numbers or, and this may shock most of you, which series is the best.

It's simply the term I use to describe my "untouchable" anime that made me an anime fan:

Azumanga Daioh, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Code Geass. In no particular order. Well, Azumanga's the first.

It's one of those "You never forget your first X" sorta deals.

Also, Lapras, it's not "Morning Rescue", it's...

MONIN' LEZ-Q.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONIN LEEEEEZ-KYUUUUUUUU.

MONIN LEZ-Q.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~

Get it RIGHT. GEEZ.

Because they're popular, and popular outside of hardcore anime fans as well. Sales don't mean a lot with scans and torrents being so readily available, especially outside of Japan i believe.

The stats I will show you are here and here .

And ahh ok then, my 3 can only be Clannad After Story, Welcome to the NHK! and Requiem for the Phantom, not much gets near any of those.

And maybe that uber-famous one Berserk? I was going to start it but realised i'd probably love it....and then get ****** off with the troll mangaka quitting to spend more time with his penis.

Do you really not like Bleach or Naruto Pixy? I know you're a big DBZ fan and that's basically fight, lose, get stronger, fight, win whilst screaming isn't it? I mean Kubo and Kishimoto's do the same thing minus the screaming. :/

I can't really comment on Dragonball as it has been years since i saw any, I do just remember the guy screaming for 5 minutes and of course what the scouter said that one time.

Bleach's main storyline is hit and miss really. They shouldn't have had 2 big "save the princess" arcs, the first one was good but do people really want to see Orihime getting saved?, probably not.

Naruto is a bit of a funny one for me, i could never stand it before but it's really grown on me. I'd probably say that after the "we're gonna save Sasuke and live happily ever after" phase started to dull the plot actually got pretty interesting. Pain V Naruto has to be my favourite shonen anime/manga fight ever (Although the Bleach boss fight is in a couple of weeks, if it's well animated it may be that)

What owuld you say is the best Dragonball fight, i've talked myself into being interested. ^_^

There's too many to count.

In no particular order:

Goku V Purple
Goku V Vegeta
Super Saiyan 2 Goku V Majin Vegeta
Vegeta V no. 18
Goku V King Piccolo
Goku V Piccolo
Vegeta V Recoome
Nappa V Tien, Yamcha, Gohan, Krillen and Piccolo
Super Saiyan Goku V Frieza Final Form
SS Goku V Cell Final Form
Goku V Black
Goku V Tien
Goku V Drum
Vegito V Super Buu
Goku & Piccolo V Raditz
Goku V Nappa
Goku V Tao Pai Pai
Goku V Oolong

And that's just what's on the top of my head. :U

The number one would be Goku V Vegeta.

Epic beyond epic.

Not to say this show was all fighting, it had quite a bit of plot and the characters definitely changed and developed over the series. n_n

I checked out a couple and remembered why I stopped watching. Superficial reasons of art, character design and the painful English dub. I think if i was going to try this again it would be a manga venture, i finally got up to date with the Naruto today so i'll probably pick up another "battle manga" before long (Probably go for OP mind).

Tbh i don't think i'll see a better fight than Naruto V Pain (all 6 of him) in a long while.

Anyway, i think that's probably enough of this topic as next to no other people on this thread watch these shows. :L

So, you also think that Akira Toriyama's character design is hideous? That's probably the only thing we have in common, then.

Not liking Dragonball art is something you have in common with a lot of people, definitely including me. As for not a lot else, who knows. Anime wise "27 Shared Anime 78.3% compatibility"...but you seem to voice opinions louder than i do, you're probably right.

I don't think that anything under 40 shared series should be used as an indication of compatibility. What's in those 27? Probably the same shows everyone has already seen. On western Television. Someone who watches and finishes new and old series regularly probably wouldn't be very compatible with someone who finishes series sparsely and rewatches the same series over and over. Or maybe it's just me.

I would think about 30ish. I checked those which we had in common again....about half of them were Pokemon and Bleach films. So yeah, you can probably disregard the comment about anime.

Chances are I have some anime on my MAL that nobody else has seen... partly because I actively search for those short, obscure romance shows xD

Same reason why I can't bear to watch the show.
