I guess if you haven't seen the anime you won't pick up on any sarcasm. It was so bad it was entertaining though. ^^ On the other hand Tenkuu Danzato Skelter Heaven is the worst thing I have seen in my life. It wasn't even funny bad.

My favourite anime is still Clannad: After Story then Welcome to the NHK!, Black Lagoon and quite a few other titles that i can't really choose for a final list. All depends on my mood i guess.

I feel the same way about Madoka Magika.

Let's see...Studio is SHAFT, Soundtrack is Yuki Kajiura, Director did Nanoha, the good arcs of Negima, ef, Bakemonogatari, Tsukuyomi, Written by the guy that wrote Fate/Zero and Phantom....

No offense, I'm not going into this show thinking bright happy standard Mahou Shoujo on this one.

Also, nice new OP/ED on that simply fabulous anime, Star Driver

I need a lighter series, to contrast with the utter soulcrushingness of Higurashi, and the mindbendingness of FLCL.

Conditions: Short, genuinely funny, and interesting.

Any suggestions?

Kinda way to early to be judging a new anime so harshly, surely?

Natsu no Arashi! would be my suggestion, it's not straight up comedy but it has some very funny moments, also it's interesting and most of the characters are pretty cool and unique.

After reading the Omnibus twice, I dun feel like it. D:

Also, 26 episodes is long.

Yeah, you heard me...

Well, for a light series.

Azumanga's 26 are justified the first time around, because Azumanga is win and awesome, but...

Well, if you have as little free time as you've claimed you have, there aren't many series I know of that wouldn't be a waste of time. I know a few short interesting series, like Trapeze, but they aren't focused too much on humor. I definitely know a few of genuinely funny and interesting shows, like Gintama, but they are quite lengthy. And then there are the shows that are short, funny, and somewhat interesting, like most flavors of the month, but the humor, relying mostly on perverseness, misunderstandings, referencing other series, or general overall idiocy, isn't what could be called "genuine".

Better off watching what you know you'll enjoy rather than wasting precious time that you don't want to waste on some throwaway series. On the other hand, Mr. All-The-Expendable-Time-In-The-World over here will just watch those throwaway shows anyway because he has nothing better to do with his time.

See, it's not so much that I don't have free time.

It's...

Well, you know the Inverse Law of Free Time and Efficiency?

It seems that, if I have hours and days, I'll do... absolutely nothing.

Give me a task and five minutes to do it, however, and it'll be done in three.

So, yes. For some odd reason, I find it borderline impossible to watch tons of anime.

The Summer Exception invalidates this, but...

EDIT: Oh, and then there's the Time Slot Rule.

In short, I squat on a computer in the communal area of my house, so I really /can't/ watch anime here (Mass murder in Oblivion is perfectly acceptable, though -_-). That restricts viewing hours to... late at night. When everyone is gone to bed.

If i had less time I would still watch a new series over one i've seen a couple of times before, tbh I only very rarely rewatch anything.

If you wan't more time to watch anime I strongly suggest not sleeping, that has helped me watch just over 51 days of anime and read 15 of manga. You can only wish you were that cool.

Anyway, away from that Arashi! is still my rec, time travellers = win, end of.

That's about the level of commitment you need. ^^
So now you have x amount of free time, watch away.

Pika plan Batman.

---

TO stop this thread from going completely off would you think this anime is trash or pretty decent sounding.

Nah, nah, I while it away on PC.

Hell, PC is my life. T_T

Oh, and two questions, out of curiosity purposes.

1. I've looked it up, and... Why the hell is Panty and Stocking so popular? Admittedly, I haven't seen it, but... It doesn't look like anything impressive, and yet I keep hearing it get mentioned.

2. Can anyone tell me anything about Angel Beats!? This looks... interesting.

Panty and stocking is mixed bag that overall i really enjoyed. It's Gainax so you kinda know what you're getting into, madness.

The good points;
Awesome soundtrack - How many anime do you know that have dubstep and drum and bass on the OST?
Kills weebos - I've never seen a more Americanised anime in my life.
Fun - It's not deep or anything but if you don't mind shallow/toilet/sex humour then this will make you laugh.

Bad - Well, the Japanese don't do sex humour very well tbh, this was a little forced.

As for Angel Beats! it's good but it could have been SO much more. The actions good, music is great, animation is slick, voice cast is good and the overall idea is pretty awesome. It's definitely worth a watch as is everything by Key. If/when you watch it i think you'll agree that they used the episodes they had wrongly, they used too many on non important things when they should have used it on actuall character development. Thinking about Angel Beats makes me feel a little down due to this actually, what a waste.

Both of those series got 8/10 on my list.

The way you described the music reminds me of R.O.D.

I totally gonna finish that series, actually... It was good, but I keep forgetting about it.

I hadn't remembered it in... 3 months.

I'll have to do Angel Beats! after Higurashi, then. It sounds interesting~

I couldn't help but think of it as a grown up version of the Power Puff Girls, I don't know exactly what your tastes are but you'll probably like it.

Hmmm apart from Gintama and Naruto: Shippuuden i've now got nothing bar currently airing anime on my watching list. I still have over 36 different unwached series downloaded but can't decide what to go for -.-

Really? for Canvas 2? I thought that one really good sub group had picked it up...I forget the name though since it stopped a while ago...Lunar, that was the name.

Yeah, idk, maybe I was just looking in the wrong places for it. I think I might try for that subbed version, though - I did note several grammatical errors on the Crunchy version and I'm just five episodes in...
