There's a pretty wide range of vocaloid songs though. You should try some of these if you're not familiar with it.

What genre of music do you normally listen to, because I guarantee that there are vocaloid songs in that genre. Unless you just don't like the high pitched voices, there's really no excuse to dislike vocaloid as a whole.

I'm not too big fan of Vocaloid either. Much like Touhou, there's too much retarded fanon speculah, overused memes, and general retardedness which makes the fanbase unbearable. The program itself, character designs, and fanart are pretty OK in my book though. When I do listen to Vocaloid, my favorites are by kz from livetune. Examples being:

I think Vocaloid is... okay. The songs are really hit or miss, and it depends on which Vocaloid's voices you can and cannot stand. For example, I have issues with Miku's voice, but less of an issue with Rin's (though I seem to be in a minority in that regard). When it comes down to it though, the whole voice technology is neat, but it isn't "real" sounding enough for me to want to listen to it a lot.

Maybe disagreeable wasn't the right word. It isn't exactly opposites in taste either. I guess our encounters could be compared the different factions of Christianity if anything. Same ideal. Disagreement on the means.

How about Nico Nico singers? They're some of the best voices I've ever heard, and they pretty much exclusively do covers of vocaloid songs.

As for the manga... Yeah, after actually reading it, it's meh. It doesn't feel right, and it's just... I dunno.

It has Tsuruya, though. So that's cool. :D

And as for the last one...

Read Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World. It's awesome.

supercell/ryo has nagi/Gazelle doing vocals
TokuP has teamed up with MARiA to form GARNiDELiA
DECO*27 has teamed up with marina and various other artists for his most recent album, though still does things with GUMI

For the record, nagi actually sang a lot more anime OP/ED. A lot of it is most likely actually because of the big copyright smackdown a few years ago when Nicovideo announced that they'd be taking down any infringing items, which killed a lot of the Uttates. Since (shimo's) Nico Melodies only come out maybe once a year, if even, we don't get many uttates besides the Vocaloid ones. A shame we don't get more original songs with Nicoartists, like halyosy's "Smiling" v_v

It's more popular, sure. That's not what I was talking about though. It's fairly unique, while the other two are basically just generic copies of every other pop song Miku has sang.

Question, what do the guys in here think of Shoujo manga (and anime i guess)? I'm wondering because i've just realised that i prefer the typical Shoujo art style more so than Shōnen or most others. I don't prefer the look of Shoujo anime though mind.

Also, today has been hell for me. I was walking through town when suddenly someone's ringtone went off....it was Lucky Star's them song.....it's been in my head non-stop for hours now. -.-
