Might I introduce you to BinaryPeaches and Roswell aka "The pair who compares things that they find disdain with to Vocaloid". :V
While I do ted to compare things I dislike to Vocaloid, I actually like... about five of their songs or so. Some of 'em include the whole Daughter of Evil "series", Melt, and a few others here and there (Triple Baka is an amusing song I like to listen to every now and then.)

There's reasons I don't poke my head in this thread too much. >.>

I think Vocaloid is... okay. The songs are really hit or miss, and it depends on which Vocaloid's voices you can and cannot stand. For example, I have issues with Miku's voice, but less of an issue with Rin's (though I seem to be in a minority in that regard). When it comes down to it though, the whole voice technology is neat, but it isn't "real" sounding enough for me to want to listen to it a lot.
I agree with you here. I have a tendency to like Rin's voice much more than Miku's.

I like Shoujo manga. In fact, one of my favorite Mangaka Artists happen to be Koge-Donbo, who is a Shoujo artist (apparently she's done a few Shounen pieces as well, though I've never seen them). It's been a while since I've read a Shoujo manga, though.

Both Rin and Miku are way too high pitched... Luka is easily the best of the three popular ones.

lol @ still no mention of GUMI/Megpoid

Can't say I've listened to much Luka. The ones that come to mind are RIP=RELEASE, Luka Luka Night Fever, Just Be Friends, Toeto, and Double Lariat. Oh, and No Logic and Tower of course. Wasn't much a fan of Night Fever, so that doesn't count here.

That's less than the number of ryo/supercell I've listened to alone (the Miku songs he's done).

It really depends on how well it's done for me along with the utattes that go with them. halyosy and his versions of Just Be Friends and Conbini come to mind in this case. TokuP, ryo/supercell, and DECO*27 come to mind as far as good artists for me goes.

hoshikuzu utopia (星屑ユートピア) is also great, and i also recommend the somewhat lesser-known discommunication (ディスコミュニケーション) by fatmanP (or the 向日葵 utatte of it)

on the topic of ryo; i think that his songs are somewhat ill-suited for vocaloid voices, as the songs themselves are centered around/place greater emphasis on the lyrics, and it's difficult if not impossible to synthesize those subtle vocal nuances required.

well, he's moved on to playing with human vocaloids now har har har

I miss the singers from the older generation (e.g. utawa sakura, gomu, nayuta, etc.)
:(

lol of course you have to listen to the utattes if you're listening ryo XD

Haven't most of them moved to doing songs for Doujin music groups? I know nayuta's been doing a bunch of Touhou stuff recently (TAMUSIC & EastNewSound). Gomu did the ED for the BRS OVA under "Gomband." Though the last I heard from him was a rock version of Rolling Girl I think, though it could have been Yonji or recog, dunno. As for Sakura...I'm not really sure what happened to her, actually. I kind of lost track of her after supercell went pro.

We're talking about that well-paced, well written, interesting, deep, sad, emotional rollercoaster known as The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya?

Good.

How does one get sucked into a story one knows nothing about? This trailer did that to me and I spammed the whole series (I cheated with Endless Eight tho~) over 2 weekends and this movie totally didn't make those hours I spent seem wasted. :U

sakura disappeared without a trace, without warning, after she did hajimete no koi ga owaru toki
a fitting end, i guess?

@shanghai alice: it's in the scene where kyon gets all violent at her

...perfect, I'll load the file now and check.

I MUST SEE.

EDIT: Ooh, I ran into the scene with Tsuruya.

EFF-YEAH, TSURUYA! TSURUYA POWER!

DOUBLE EDIT:

I checked the UPC number of the book Nagato was carrying.

I. Shut. Bricks.

Sadly... And I mean "I want to murder whoever is responsible..." I already knew the basic premise, so I wasn't caught off guard.

...

T_T

it's kinda obvious when you think about it: not haruhi and not a new charcter and someone who can do some crazy reality warping stuff

it was so totally obvious that it was
Spoiler:

I thought it was Sasaki.

Anyway, I'm not even up to Disappearance in the novels (That's the next one), so...

Well, can't say I wasn't expecting it to happen, though I'll admit it was earlier than I had expected, especially since the episode count is variable still.

It does feel a little early for that sort of thing but no I was expecting some of this in Madoka★Magica. Really enjoying this series so far even if Mami's eyes are creepy.

Madoka★Magica is definitely proving to be the surprise series for me this season (and in a good way). I can't really put my finger on what it is that draws me into the show, but it keeps me looking forward to episodes each week :)

I think I feel the same way, there's nothing spectacular about it and it's far from groundbreaking under any light but you're right, you do anticipate the next episode more than the norm. Actually Fractale has the same feeling, I'm loving it without being 100% sure why.

Top 3 anime of the season so far so far would have to be Gosick, Fractale and Madoka★Magica.
