This is AP stuff? No wonder it's hard for me; I'm just taking basic chemistry right now.
And that's why he originally asked Alan for help with it and not anyone else. XD

I'd attempt to help you... but it's 3:30 in the morning, and like Jack, I didn't take AP chem, only basic~

Whoa hohoho...I just noticed your avatar. Scares the crap outta me.

O.o It's been there ever since I changed my banner this evening, you know. XD
It's been freaking me out ever since. o_O;

Still working...

Good. That's what you get for killing the pretty ponies. >O
So what happens when he kills the dog? Do we get somthing cuter?

What'd you get for the second question, Jack?

It's perfectly worth it, Ashley. I'd rather be freaked out by that dog than stand the presence of those Godforsaken pretty ponies any second longer.

Do pretty ponies have souls?

Hopefully.

I think I got 1/3 of the fluorine of the original compund is in the solid and 2/3 of the fluorine is in the gas.

What do you have against pretty ponies anyway? ;_; And you'd have to ask Evelina to be sure, but I'm pretty sure they have souls...

Jack wouldn't try to kill the doggy. ;_; Even if he did, the banner and avy are staying since they freak you both out so much. =D

And now that it's 4am and I have a dance class at 9... I think I shall go to sleep. G'night to you both~

If they have souls, then I can try to make a Philosopher's Stone out of them. xD

Meh.

See you.

I hope you fall asleep while doing some complicated dance move...

How'd you get 2/3 and 1/3?

EDIT: Nevermind...forgot about the water.

It's a tap duet with my little sister... it's not going to involve any difficult dance moves. XP
Well...I hope something horrible happens.

1/3 is in the solid...?

Jack... that's just cruel. ;_;
Is it, really? Better to sacrifice the pretty ponies to improve the livelihood of the Elric brothers, the Homunculi, and the State Military. >P

Thanks so much... it's nice to know you care. XD

It is cruel... I don't care what happens to the Elrics, Homunculi, or the State Military... except Havoc, I like him. XD I'd rather sacrifice all of them than the ponies. <3

Okay now... now I'm really leaving. XD

Havoc is funny. Mustang stole his girl. Twice I believe...

Jack, mind explaining how you worked out 1/3 and 2/3?

What's this 1/3 and 2/3 thingy all about??

I can't really recall how I did it. I think it went something like this:

1. I found the percent compositions of water and uranium hexafluoride.
2. I multiplied the given masses of the two reactants by their percent compositions to find the gram amounts of the individual elements.
3. I subtracted the gram amounts of uranium, hydrogen, and oxygen from the masses of the products to get the gram amounts for fluorine.
4. I isolated fluorine from the reactants and products; 1.373 g F in uranium hexafluoride equals .454 g F in the solid and .919 g F in the gas. Division of these figures yielded 67% for the gas and 33% for the solid; the last thing left to do was to convert the percentages to fractions.

Or something along the lines of that.

Seems like Simon finally found someone ta' help him with his work..

From what I've been able to work out, I think that the formula of the solid product is UO2F2.

The balanced equation would go something like this: 2H2O + UF6 → 4HF + UO2F2
