I suppose it might be useful if it's sent to third world countries or if there's a freak accident that destroys a good portion of the food supplies, but good luck convincing the population to eat this!

As for convincing, a long time ago (400-500 years) almost no one would eat potatoes for some reason. Present day they are a very popular food. Just give it time and im sure that ever one will be eating mashed... um, well, you know

I'd imagine that if you did blind taste tests, people may not even be able to discern the difference. :/
