Okay, so I own a Japanese Version of Pokemon Silver and I own a US Gameboy advance SP.

Every time I save, it would fully save, but when I turn it on again, it would have my file erased. Now occasionally, it would save and still have the file, but those moments are extremely rare.

Now, I only assume that it may be the internal battery, since it's old and crap, but may it also fail because it's an import?

Being an imported game shouldn't make any difference to how long it lasts if it's the real thing. After all, all the games did come out in Japan before the US.

It's most likely the internal battery that's at fault here. Just get it replaced and then your game should run normally again.

I also have a japanese silver version and had the same problem, but since I got the battery replaced it's working.

Thank you very much. I was worried that it wasn't working because it was foreign.

How much do internal batteries usually cost?

It depends how much they are on sale where ever you are I guess. If you do decide to open it, just take the battery to the a store and they'll sort it out and give you a price.
