I have a weird feeling it might not be, What I think (and shoot me down if you want) is that there may be something related to Evolution Stones, because we now have:

-Water
-Thunder
-Fire
-Leaf
-Sun
-Dawn
-Shiny

ect.

And, I have a feeling that they may do something related to that, for example a Dawn Stone a trainer may have a Gallade and Frosglass. An added reason i think this is because Professor Rowan has a large interest in Evolution and the sudden crop up of stones makes me wonder if theres any significance

Ideas that support this:

-Rowans interest in evolution
-The increase in stones
-The fact that Palmer be either the only Frontier brain or left out seems strange to me
-Ash and his group collecting alot of Jhoto Pokemon
-There are contests for Dawn

The Stones have no relation to anything besides ability to evolve. New ones that are accepted are just made into games and anime. And that is all the Fat lady sang. Nothing else

How did it not make sense?

Like how Ash challenged each Frontier Brain, and won the symbol, E.g the Ability symbol for beating the trainer with great Ability, he could take on a leader who specializes in pokemon who evolve through each of the stones.

so you are suggesting that evolution stones may be about to play a central role in the plot? I'm afraid i still have no idea how this relates to johto or dawn's contests, however...
