Jirachi or Metagross?

Who do you prefer out of the steel/psychics? *if this has been done before, I apologize, but we have several favorite topics so...* Oh yes, in this topic, tell your preference but try to avoid saying how one of them sucks or soemthing. Both pokes can be good if used correctly.

I prefer Metagross... I've always liked it even before RS was released in Japan. Meteor Mash is excellent (so what if steel is only good against 2 types? MM can raise its attack stat). Some whiny people complain and say that Meta is too 00ber. I guess they never heard of EQ or a fire move ;). Meta is only a problem when on a team of other super powerful pokes, but the type combo and move capability is so appealing. Plus those red eyes are cool.

Myself, I'm unfamiliar with Jirachi's moveset outside of doom desire, wish, and psychic, but it seems more like a supporter, and I like offense.

I agree with you.Meta is a very good powerhouse, who can cover up for a lot of his weaknesses.Plus, strong attacking pokemon are my favorite.

Jirachi is more more annoying than Metagross with its much higher resistance.

I prefer Jirachi. I'm training mine to be pretty strong even though it's level 30, I've been using TMs, proteins, and other stat raising, pokemon improving stuff. Jirachi's on sterroids!!!! 0___o Okay, sorry....It's 6 a.m, and for some reason I'm always super-hyper at this time if I stayed up all night...

This is a really old topic, so if you want to make a new one. As for my opinion:
Jirachi might make a decent wisher, but I think Vaporeon does that better. Steel/Psychic is a good type, but Jirachi?s stats aren?t primed to take advantage of it. Since you have to split its EVs, you either choose between attacks or special attacks, neither of which does it have a large amount of choices. For special there is Psychic?and Thunder. I guess it could use (Rain Dance/Thunder/Water Pulse/Recover) to take advantage of Serene Grace. In 2v2 it can Skill Swap that off. For psychical, you have Body Slam and?Shadow Ball? Considerably less and seeing as how it can have calm Mind anyways then it?s probably best to go with special.

Still, Metagross has stats that lend more to the usefulness of its type. It has a very high attack stat, and plenty of variety there (Explosion, Earthquake, Meteor Mash, Rock Slide, Shadow Ball) and Agility. It may not be as fast, but it has a lot more potential IMO. I?ve never really tried Jirachi though, but it seems to me Metagross is better crafted for this new combo type.
