So I got a PS3 recently. I was a kind of combined Christmas/birthday gift from my friends. I know, I know, some of you are reacting like "What? You only just now got a PS3?" and think I'm like your grandfather who asks you how the email works. I like to wait and see before I get something expensive, okay? They were also kind enough to give me a game. Several games, actually, all bundled up on one disc. The one I'm most jazzed about is Journey.
I don't know how popular this game is. I might be really late to the bandwagon, but I freakin' love this game. I love how the light reflects off the sand, how your character speaks with just a note of music and and enigmatic symbol, how the music changes to fit the progression of the story, how the story is so simple yet emotional and that you can follow it without a single word of explanation, how everything about it fits together. If I'd had to buy a PS3 myself just to play it I would have.
The other games the disc have are Flow and Flower, which are both great from what I've seen. I haven't played many video games in recent years because I thought there wasn't much of anything to the games being made recently besides and lots of money and graphics. Now I'm gonna keep an eye out.
