It be cool on the new pkmn games if there was a classic mode option u know gen1 - gen3 type of sprites. Jus saying

Those might come across as slightly out-of-place, if X/Y are much to go by, and in addition would usually have to be 2D. While they could make the games in 2D or 3D, they would generally speaking be promoting 3D, and other modes might seem to get in the way if the 3D were seen as important in some manner. Usually, the locations and so on are very different, and might come across as slightly comical with the older sprites, especially as the older games are more identified with the series in pop culture and elsewhere, unless they wanted to be like Sonic and have it only be partially seen. That might just make the contrast clearer, though.

I personally wouldn't mind if they were to allow us to choose graphic style from previous generations (not only one and two, however) while playing; I feel it'd be interesting! Unfortunately, though, I'd imagine this to be a whole lot of work on their end.

It's a neat idea, though I think it would take too much work (making older sprites for new Pokemon, etc.), and I think GF's energy is better spent on other elements of the games. That said, maybe it could be done to some small degree? Older music was accessible in HGSS through the use of an item (but not until late in the game), so maybe something similar could be used for activating certain sprites or graphics. Or even for Pokemon summary screens/menu options (since that wouldn't require fitting the sprite in smoothly with the rest of the game world).

This would be cool, especially given I wanted to see what 6th Gen Pokemon would have looked like if things weren't all full-3D. But I imagine it would be too much work for Game Freak to do.

Someone's probably made a ROM hack in aid of this. Pokemon fans have talent by the bucket load.
