ok this is my first time using photoshop ( well acutually used to use it quite alot a fews back but really forgotten everything) i just did this quick banner not much to it just a few things thrown in from bits of tutorials and i was just like to know what u guys think of it ( had to throw in my fav poke sprite lol!)

I'm sorry to say....

I like what you are going for, but maybe you should tween that fade..... and not have words AND sprite fade.... maybe the sprite itself only, and with the words, I'm not sure what you should do with them. If there is not a border (I never noticed one...) than add it.

You get an A for effort at least. Touch it up a bit and I'm sure it will be great!

No offense AC, but he should be able to leave the sprite if he wants too... who are you to tell him what image he is(n't) allowed to use.... besides.... I don't think that there is an official picture of that fakemon anyway... so he is pretty much stuck with that sprite.

-_- it's a thing called constructive criticism, ever heard of it? the sprites make it look less clean. they naturally don't crop well, and are often pixelated. also, try saving that as a PNG, it'll be less pixely. and DarkPhoenix, i know what i've been doing, i've been doing banners for a loooong time.

yeah, if all you had was good comments, and you weren't doing as well as you thought, you'd never get anywhere. that's how i got where i am today.

XD Eh.... and you assume I haven't? Trust me.... I have been doing banners for quite some time... Constructive Criticism isn't telling him to do another banner entirely, it is telling him how to develop what he already has to make it better....

Let's see.... You told him to

a) Get a new image,
b) Get a better background,
c) Add a border.

To me, that is telling him to make a new banner. I told him how to fix what he already has...

Not all banners have to be made up of pictures you know... I've seen some nice one's with sprites in them... I'm gonna go see if I have any...

yeah, i'm just saying, sprites make it look dirty and raw. honestly, i don't see any trouble in making a new banner, seeing as how i'm very fast at it, but...

Yeah, generally banners with pics look better than ones with sprites, but you can make it work.... I wish I had my banner I used to have.... but I lost the link and the file on my old comp after it crashed.... bah hooey.... lol.

ok i took away the sprite and put in a border (didn't change the background not yet) the border is simple but i just wanna show ya

Yeah.... I;ve just realized, that that font has got to go.... possibly change it to something more.... ummm..... eye-candyish? Here is a link to a font that would look quite nice with that banner:

And a simple 1/1/1px black/white/black border would work nice. With the banner you are doing, you have to make it fancy or it quite doesn't work...
