First off, I've got the stat calculations working correctly. But there's just another thing I need to know how to work out. (I looked around but couldn't find the answer.)

In Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver/Crystal, is there a set # experience points for each level that needs to be gained to reach the next level? I know the max is 65536, but do the level-up experience intervals vary? Is there somewhere I can find a list of these values, or some way I can calculate them? Hopefully that made some sense.

Thanks, that's all I'd like to know!

Edit: Whoops. Actually, there's one more question. How do the games calculate how much experience you gain from beating an enemy Pokemon? Not stat exp, general exp?

Well, there are set formula for the amount of experience points needed per level.

    Fast: 0.8(current level)^3
    Medium-Fast: 1(current level)^3
    Medium-Slow: 1.2(current level)^3 - 15(current level)^2+100(current level)-140
    Slow: 1.25(current level)^3

As for the amount of experienced gained, there are set formula for those, and like the base stats, there are base experience points, which increase per level.

    Experience gained = (opponent's level * base experience factor)/7

The base experience factor is multiplied by 1.5 if the Pokemon is traded, and by 1.5 again if the opponent Pokemon is a trainer owned Pokemon, rather than a wild one.

Thanks--so it works that way in all Pokemon games?

I can't find a chart with base experience anywhere online--am I not looking in the right places, or does it simply not exist? And, is there a place where I can find a list of which Pokemon are fast/medium-fast/medium-slow/slow?

check the advanced section, under base values and effort points.

Also, holy crap you know GeeK, Arti and mmmmmmmmmmmmmichael! :OOOO Pro! GK goes to the same uni as I do! (Well, rather I go to the same one he does). What's your name (IRC or battle wise)? I might have heard of you before? Keep in mind I've mostly been a NB nubbie though.

    Thanks, I see it now!

I did know them.... when they were just GK and Arty and didn't have all these strange nicknames. o,O Can you tell me where I can find them on IRC, actually? I spoke to them within the past year I think, but have since lost track of the server that has #pokebattle. Also, who is michael? That isn't Celia, is it? Is that Evil Blastoise? (I forget his RL name...) My SN has always been Pidgeot500.

You wouldn't happen to know where I could find a list of which Pokemon are fast/slow/medium slow/medium fast for experience, would you?

The speed of leveling up I'm not too sure about, although iirc Azureheights(.com) has a list, only up to Mew =/

Also, mmmmmmmmmichael is Celia indeed, after exposing himself as a male! Haven't seen Arty, but I did see GK on irc.your-irc.net at #rs (and you know rsbot is #rsarena), so yeah.
