I collected the original sets when they first came out and now I'm having a slow summer so I'd like to play again.
My questions are: What should I buy and can I use my old cards in touney play today?

What should I buy?
Delta Species and Unseen Forces are two sets containing good cards; I reccomen booster packs from them.

Can I use my old cards for tournament play toay?
There are a variety of diffiferent tournamenet formats, but the short answer is no.
The Pokemon Organized Play website has a list of the different formats, and what cards are allowed in each one.
