Im new to ROM hacking and this is my first hack. Currently I've been using Nameless Sprite Editor to change sprites on Pokémon Emerald. I've run into an error where it says:

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. This data is not Lz77 compressed!

Does anyone know whta im doing wrong or how to fix this?

    Thank you :)

I get what its saying but not why its happening, my recommendation would be to use a different program.

Try hex maniac advance instead. Once you get used to it, you'll be able to use it for that , and much much more.

I know it has some ways of importing sprites as well, as I helped someone import there's before.

But for making the sprite, check out the reply in this thread it gives some tips.

But look at the sprite table in hma first to find the right dimmensions.
