    Correct me if in wrong, but as I understand it there's no way to look into the coding of x and y yet.

    Because of this, couldn't they hypothetically release Z (or X/Y2) with a handful of pokemon that we've never seen, ones that were sneakily already contained within the coding of X and Y, and still have them tradable because of this?

    I don't know much about these cartridges, so bare with me, but doesn't this seem plausible? Seems like a great way to exploit the 'new' system
     
    I've had this same thought since I heard the number was 70...and learned Zygarde was the last of those 70. Sure hope there's more of them in a possible third version or sequel. It'll help fill in where XY were lacking in.
     
    back in BW it was because of hacking people could learn of event pokemon like meloetta and genesect way before they are officially unveiled. It will be the same for XY (ie.ratatosk)

    Well the 3DS is more difficult to hack than the DS as are their games...so we may not know for awhile...
     
    it been couple more year till somone figure out the 3ds firmware works
     
    I've thought about this a fair bit and I agree that there is a lot of potential that they could release some new Pokemon for this Z game without us knowing, mostly event Pokemon. But with such a low roster, I think anything could be possible in regards to regular Pokemon or new evolutions of other Pokemon (such as was the case in Platinum, albeit we knew about it before and it wasn't hidden, just wasn't there in Diamond & Pearl pre-national dex).

    I don't think it's a stretch at all.
