Kingdom Hearts Discussion [Spoilers - Beware!]

You have to take off the "cover" of your PS2's DVD tray so that the slider will work but that can be put back on if you ever want it to. If you have the fat PS2 it's much easier to play imported games with Swap Magic. It's what I've used for years and I've never had a problem. :3

Quick question, do you people have any hints for the "Six Giant Heartless" challenges in Days? Those are the only ones I'm having issues with at this point. Especially in the SP Challenge, can you avoid the Dustflier and still get 3 sigils?

Oh! That mission!

Yeah, best i can give you..

Beat the game and get the Zero Gear and Four Sight units. That's the only way to kill the dustflier....the big one. The others? Um...they aren't that hard...

As for the PS2 question I asked:

So I use the swap magic 3 and the game disc and it SHOULD work? Thanks :) Any specific processes I need to remember?

Um... *opens DS and checks which one is the SP challenge* Oh, heart points. You do not need to kill the dustflier to get 3 sigils, but I always do because I find it much easier to do it than a very specific run through of everything else.

Normal Challenge (Take 5 or less hits)
→ do the fight you find the hardest *first* because then if you take damage, it's not quite so painful to just restart from the beginning.
→ my order is usually:
* Shadow (I... just kinda suck at this one. I can't remember my strategy, sorry.)
* Guard Armor (once you take the arms out, you can pretty much jump + glide on the spot to avoid getting hit for the rest of the fight)
* Chameleon (combo → block → combo should take care of it easy... blizzaga helps too)
* Flower (two firaga should do it. maybe a combo. easiest one of the bunch.)
* Giga Shadow (I usually draw it out into the main room and block when it lunges, stunning it so I can combo; then repeat.)
* Blade thing (glide when it jumps up, block when it lunges, combo when it's down, repeat~)
→ You don't have to do the dustflier for this one.

SP Challenge (800+ heart points)
→ Yeah I... find it a lot easier to just bite the bullet and beat the dustflier. It's not too bad so long as you have zero gear equipped (along with maxed sight units for crit hits) and don't mind a long(ish) fight. Otherwise... I'll just write out what the guide says:
Collecting 800 heart points without having to fight the Dustflier is easy if you follow a certain route and defeat enemies in chains. Also, don't allow Storm Bombs to detonate themselves. Start in Station Heights, defeat those enemies, return to the Side Street, enter the Underground Passage, clear it while heading north, then take out the Stalwart Blade normally in the Station Plaza. Backtrack on this route to the dark corridor and RTC without lifting much of a finger.
→ For some reason I've never had any luck with that but... if it works for you, go for it. @_@

By Shadow, I assume you mean the Orcus. I suck at that one too. =P So I guess stock up on magic, and beat Powered Armor and Orcus first. I'm glad I don't have to take on Dustflier on the first one. One false step with the Meteor Breath and it's time to restart. Thanks for the help, guys.

Did I say Shadow? Oops. Yeah, Orcus was what I meant. XD; I can never remember its name. @_@ But yeah, no Dustflier in the first one.

As for the dustflier itself, I found it pretty easy so long as whenever it used the meteor attack, to just glide behind the steps to the clock tower. It could rarely hit me that way. It's a pretty long battle (even at LV99, iirc) but not too hard once you get used to the repetition. :|

OH gods, I destroyed Days. 100% in a week.
However, I do have to say, the gameplay as Sora in Multiplayer was terrible, IMO, and I went straight back to using The King, Riku, and zero Gear Roxas.

As for BBS, I can't wait for it to come out in the US, I managed to end up with my friends PSP when he left for Canada, so I should be able to beat it before I get a chance to return it to him, if he even remembers it.

For the Orcus? Um...best I can give you on that...

Basically, the Orcus has 4 real attacks:

Sword moves while it's visible. I think this can be blocked. Auto Block is nice...

It's vanishing sword move. Dodge Roll 3 really helps here. Just keep doing that until you see it starting to reappear then use an air combo right away!

The Lightning move...this one is more or less based on luck in my opinion. I like to stay in and hit it but you can always glide out.

And then the orb move...just stay in the air and you should avoid this one just fine.

Basically, you spam air attacks (Zero Gear!) on it right after it appears and is still stunned. Sight units help. Then whenever it starts attacking, use what I've put above and it SHOULD go down in no time. This one never really gave me trouble...

As for the Dustflier...ah, that evil creature. The Dustflier has 3, maybe 4 attacks, nothing more. Sounds easy, right? WRONG!

These are:

Meteor Breath: Easy enough to dodge, just glide in a big circle and all will miss.

Shockwave: Yeah...I hate this one. Still, there's an easy way to avoid it. It's a glitch that occurs when you stand on the deck. If you're there, this move doesn't hurt. BTW it does this whenever it lands.

Invincible Charge: This is my single most hated move ingame. Get hit by this, it doesn't matter how much health you have, I think you die unless you're level 100 or something. Pretty obvious, though. It just sits there in midair for a second then charges. Pretty dodgable.

Flipping Attack: THis move isn't really dangers. It flips over dealing a LITTLE damage. You should be finebut it's harder to see coming than the others.

Now what I find REALLY annoying about this fight is all the shadows that appear. THey're just so annoying. I deal with them as I go, personally. The dustflier is hard to kill but you really feel good if you do!

Took me like 2 months to 100% Days in Japanese (mostly because solo missions didn't exist so I had to rope my brother into downloading it and playing with me and letting me win everytime to collect crowns). Took me a week in the English version. XD; So long as you don't mind the sheer repetition, it's really easy to do.

I found Sora/Xion/Roxas really boring to use in mission mode though. :| Even dual-wielding just wasn't fun as Roxas in MM. I'd use almost anyone else over the keyblade users because they're so similar. What's the point, you know? @_@

Welll, I typically used Zero Gear, and Sora got Dream Sword with Zero Gear.
It's nothing special. Two hit combo with mediocre attack power just doesn't do much for me. I like Zero Gear Roxas for the massive combos you can hit off it, and King Mickey has a powerful, short combo that works wonders on bosses that attack fast, IMO.

After doing things so many times in story mode, plus challenges, plus getting completion in the regular missions, I just got so sick of having a keyblade. I varied a lot in the Japanese version, trying out a bunch of characters, but in the English I just went through all of mission mode as Marluxia. xD; I still play from time to time and just pick a tough mission and see if I can beat it with a certain character.

Mickey was great for rolling in and quickly stealing someone's loot or a kill but other than trolling my friends, I didn't use him much, haha.

Best thing about Mickey IMO?
Endless friggin' dodge roll. He was like a mini-sphere of doom.

I've got the Xehanort Reports here if anybody wants to see them.
From BBS btw.

Spoiler:

True. Best limit break, imo, is either Xemnas or Xaldin's. Riku's only looks like it could run through Superman without a snag. T.T
I guess Saix's is pretty good too. Bouncing Bunnymoon Berserker!

Also, I finished the challenges and got mah Ultima Weapon. thanks, Lightning and Eclipse!

I wish I had Ultima Weapon...:'(

But whatever. Glad my advice helped!

sorry, just sick of people speculation of the Next KH game, since there is no information about it,.

Well, you can always choose not to read them. What a concept.

We'll see if it does turn out to not be a numbered game. If it's on a next gen console, Square-Enix might make them put a number on the title to avoid confusion with the public.
