3rd Gen Last Trainer in Trainers Eyes

    I am having problems with completing my Trainers Eyes in Pok?NAV. I have battled almost all (68) trainers to ensure that their Pok?mon were at top level, except for one trainer: Bug Catcher James in Petalburg Woods. I have walked around for hours fighting random battles and walked in and out of the forest continously hoping that he wants a rematch, but that has never happened yet. Every other "indoor" place (ex: Mt. Pyre, Mt. Chimney, Jagged Pass etc.) with trainers I have succeeded. If I ever get to encounter him 5 times (according to that I have encountered every other trainer 5 times), will my trainer card then get updated and I get one more star? (Right now I have Bronze Card with one star (beating elite four).) Or shall I finish all the other objectives first (That star was listed as no. 5 somewhere - anyway, there is 4 or 5 stars to get?), like completing contests and battle tower? In the Trainers Eyes there was some info about him and his advice is "If you want to catch bug Pok?mon, wake up early." Does that mean that I have to go to Petalburg Woods in the morning before he will challenge me? Have you experienced a similar thing about completing the trainers too?
    EDIT: I have just read that the 5th star is a rumor. Is that true or can you confirm that? If that's correct I have wasted my time. But at least I was training Pok?mon meanwhile and they gained experience points from the battles.

    Yes! It happened to me a lot of times! There is nothing that you or I can do about it! They only want a remach when the decide! Bug Catcher James almost never battled me! He's a wimp! What do you expect! But you still won't get another star If you do defeat every trainer 5 times like you said! At the end, you will allways have on trainer missing! There are only 70 trainers in the Trainer's Eyes. You can get 69 trainers throughout the game but one will still be missing! You can only battle the last trainer if you have e-Reader. You just swipe the card and then you will battle that missing trainer. I have registered 70 trainers. Trainer 69 is the Champion, Steven. So the trainers can battle you whenever they want to. So you can't force them! It's all about Luck! Getting the 5th star is really easy! And no, it's not just a rumor! I have 5 stars! You can get the 5th star by completing these tasks:

    1. Get 100 wins in the Battle Tower.
    2. Have all of your Pokemon pictures drawn and placed in a museum.
    3. Beat the Elite Four and the Champion.
    4. Finish the Trainer's Eyes.
    5. The most hardest out of all of them, get all of the Pokemon.

    When I said "Get all of the Pokemon", I do mean get all of them from R/B/Y/G/S/C/R/S. It is a hard task to complete but sooner or later, you will have 5 stars!

    Thanks a lot! Does it matter which order I do those tasks in to get stars? I thought that 200 Pok?mon (all from R/S) was enough to complete the Pok?dex and get a star. Anyway, I don't have the others, so I can't transfer from older Pok?mon games or FR/LG. It is my goal to get 200 Pok?mon (I have 162 registered at the moment.) and get a diplom and it was my goal to complete Trainers Eyes, but the e-Reader isn't released in Denmark yet, so it'll be useless. I decided that goal since I had read, that if you beat Dragon Tamer Nicolas 5 times you will get Dragon Scale (I have proved that was wrong since I stole it with Thief from a Wild Bagon.), I did that - even 10 times and still nothing. Then I saw it was Dragon Fang you would've got, but it's a Thief only item, right? Anyway, I don't need that. I could both train Pok?mon and gain exp. points to get closer to my 200 PKMN goal and battle all trainers 5 times too. But now that you confirmed that the information I got was wrong, I will have to walk from route to route and find trainers to battle with. I have discovered that it is much easier getting "Route 1XX trainers" to rematch you. I also wanted to complete the other tasks, but after numerous attempts I realized it would be too hard and a waste of time. So I've wasted a lot of time on planting 3000 berries (yes, it IS true!) which I will never need or get to the end of. Why do you need the rare berries? I have stopped thinking of getting them all. :D

    There is no 70th trainer. What makes you think a Secret trainer battle would add another TE for you? I've got 69 Eyes and battling those in bases won't add anything. Genius.

    All 386 Pokemon?? Are you sure? My sister has 201 and she already has the Trainer Star for it. That's her only trainer star besides the E4 one. She hasn't beaten BT, All 5 Contests in all 5 Ranks+Pics, and so on.
     
    I never bothered with ingame stuff, so I don't know the answer...

    However, do keep in mind that NO GUIDES are ever gurantee correct (especially official ones when it comes to Pokemon.) Just because it's from www.gamefaqs.com, that doesn't mean that it's automatically correct. Some of those guides are so out of date too...

    Secondly, anyone can say "I know from experiences I even got a screenshot of it" and show us a possibly fake screenshot. So therefore, game forums never accepts that saying as an evidence for a possible rumor.
     
    the 70th triner is a linked friend (skds is right). well, mayb my game is messed up, but thats the 70th for me.
     
    Impossible. I have 69 Trainer Eyes and my Link Battle Record is 63-12-1. I went through my Trainer Eyes counted it and it came out 69 and none of those Trainers were friends of mine.
     
    it's just my highly awkward and abnormal instinct not to trust anything from someone who "wants' someone else.

    And really, try to research about the "5th trainer star" on a reliable site... certainly knowing serebii.net's "I gotta have all the Pokemon data in the world" nature, if their screenshot doesn't have it, then I doubt the possibility of getting it... or else, you'll see serebii.net going "Major news: 5th trainer star! Remember how you sees this first at serebii.net" XD (lol they love doing that so much... everytime there's new info on the movies they do that)

    Make sure that your friend has a secret base, then after you link up with him/her, go to their secret base.
     
    Right...how do you think I test out my movesets??? I go to Secret Bases duh.
     
    Sure I did. How hard can it be to Link Up then go to a Base afterwards???
