3rd Gen latios and latias

im having a lot of trouble trying to encounter latios/latias can someone help me and give me tips on how to give me a better chance of a first time encounter (and this is in emerald)

for me go to the daycare near maulville go in than out the door and check the grass using sweet scent because it gives you a high chance of seeing them. It might take some time but it isworth it!

well what i do to catch run away legendarys is save on a route where they can be encountered then walk around for a wile and if it does not come out i turn the game off then on and walk around again (in the same route)and i do that till i encounter it if you see it and it runs off this would be easier since the pokedex tells you what route its currently on

like latioslegends said route 117 where the daycare center is, is a good route to look for latios/latias cause i think its one of the routes that has the less amount of grass

to me the best spot really but it can be in the water to I suggest have a wobbofett but the best to have is a sablete from skyypiler and give it a lot of carbos because it has mean look and Lati attacks can't damage it!

just get some max repels, you don't really need to use them,
go in any grass with your bike and just move on the spot not taking any steps, or just wheely your acro bike,and you are not loosing any steps, the max repel only repels weak wild pokemon,so you will encounter legandaries and so you will encounter latios/latias,but it might still take short time or long time
