I've seen this conversation all throughout this site, so I just wanted to centralize the discussion to one thread.

It seems like most Pokemon to me should be 1:1 gender ratio, but I know that just isn't what the masterminds behind Pokemon would allow.
They could try to make breeding difficult for legendaries by either keeping them in the "no eggs" group like Latios and Latias, or they could have some ridiculous prerequisites/limitations such as obtaining an item, traveling to a nest, lengthy egg duration, and the ability to only breed once. I could see that the three legendary dogs could share a pre-evolution, but neither the birds nor the land/sea/sky or time/space/dimension trios would have a common ancestor. If we can recall in Pokemon Snap, the birds did each hatch from their own eggs.
I'd like to see Manaphy and Phione's stats changed and altered to be non-legendary. Then, the chances of hatching a Manaphy or Phione will for once be dependent on the temperature of where they are hatched.
Perhaps pregnancy should be introduced? No that a lot of Pokemon could get pregnant, but it would require some limitations during that period.
Arceus needs to have all of its stats lowered down to 600.
I still don't understand how Mew could be the common ancestor of all Pokemon when Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina created the Pokemon universe. I prefer to think of Mew as a versatile rarity in the Pokemon world.
