Hey Guys I caught Rayquaza Yesterday With A Timer Ball Do You Think Timer Balls Could Substitute Master Balls ?

    ~Nya

You can catch any pokemon (aside for Mewtwo in R/B/Y) with virtually any type of pokeball.
I caught Azelf and Uxie with Timerballs. It depends on how long you want to battle them.

Hey, any balls can be used....I'm challenging myself to only use Pokeballs the next time I play Emerald...

Any Pokeball can be used, it's just that the better the ball, the easier to catch...
    Pokeball: Catch
    Great Ball: Easier Catch
    Ultra Ball: Easier Catch
Timer Ball: Easier Catch when match goes for long time (around 40 turns)
    Master Ball: Always Catch

I swear, I heard Mewtwo (FR/LG?) is easier to catch with a Pokeball...

Just Because You Caught Rayquaza With A Timer Ball Doesn't Mean It Will Catch Things 100% Of The Time And Also You Don't Need To Capitalize Every Word You Say

That's not very nice xDD, I used to have a bad problem where I used to capitalize every single word.

Anyway best to stick to Ultra Balls, timerballs are fine though.

I actually only like using Pokeballs & Ultraballs. I have bad OCD with it, because I dont like how it displays which ball you have in corner and I can only use Poke's or Ultra's otherwise the pokemon is like worthless or something xDDD

If anyone's curious about the formulas behind capturing a pokemon, the data is here. As you can see, other than the Master Ball, the Quick Ball is the best ball available if you use it within the first five turns and the Dusk Ball when used in a cave or at night. The second best are the Net Balls, Repeat/Nest Balls if the function applies, and the Quick Ball when it's used between turns 6-10. (Dive Balls don't count because you don't Dive under in D/P.) It takes an awful lot of time to use the Timer Ball effectively; 40 turns and above into the battle, and even then it's only as effective as a Quick Ball in the first five turns.

I use Quick Balls and Dusk Balls almost exclusively. They're just so good. It's not that hard to lower a pokemon's HP into the yellow or red zone before five turns are up. In many cases, you're able to catch a pokemon simply by firing a Quick Ball off the get-go. The capture formula is the same regardless of the pokemon you're trying to catch. Also, don't think that holding in the B button or delaying x number of seconds is going to improve your odds of catching a pokemon. Those tricks are bogus.

Timer Balls work great if you have a sturdy Pokemon (ie. Metagross or Aggron). If not, bring a whole bunch of Ultra Balls to be safe...
Yeah i had allot of Ultra Balls just in case but i ended up useing the timer ball >.<

I have a habbit of using only pokeballs on legendaries. I dunno why, pokeballs or healballs XD; They look pretty!

No one's perfect, so lay off him. I can say a few things about you also.

No, no ball will ever be as effective as a Masterball, though a Timer Ball really long into a battle is very efficient.
