oc: I've been on a vampires bad side before. ;)

ic: "This is getting out of hand. I'm sorry Celest." I said. "but now Alderon isn't the only one in danger. If this fight goes on much longer Treena could wind up dead, including Alderon. I have to intervene." I stepped out of Celest's protective bubble and ran into the room. "Hey pappy!" I shouted at Alderon's dad to get his attention. "chew on this!" I placed my hands together and fired an energy stream straight at his chest.

The energy blast combined with my kick knocked my fathe off balance and untangled our whips. Takig full advantage of the situation, I quickly snapped my own weapon out, sending it three times around his neck. I grabbed the other end just below the barb and pulled the two ends apart, popping my father's head straight off. "Only way to do it" I muttred, coiliong the chain back up as I turned to Donovan saying "**** fool."

"Fool!?" Celeste cried, outraged. "He just helped save you!" She wasn't getting along with this Vampire very well, though she knew she'd have to try...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Treena rose shakilly, her legs protesting under her weight. She walked unsteadilly to where Alderon was standing.
"I believe you owe me some kind of explination," she whispered, a faint smile on her face as she gently touched the two puncture marks on her neck.
I just snarled at the angel. She wasn't my favorite person by a longshot but I'd have to put up with her. When I turned to Treena, however, I felt a bit better, saying "It's a bit of a story but here's the condensed version: There are people known as Chosen to my clan. They are born when a blood moon rises. When a member of our clan drinks their blood it offers them protection, healing...The whole deal. You" I bowed low towards Treena, giving her respect due her position "Appear to be one of them."
Treena was slightly taken aback. This was getting to be too much. Mage, Mermaid, and now a Chosen!?
She shook her head gently. "Well, what exactly does all this mean to me? You drank from me... and I'll admit, it wasn't as horrible as many people make it sound... but is it only you that can take the power from me? Or should I be worried about other Vampires trying to suck me dry?"
"Others of my clan might try" I said darkly, adding "It's a unique curse of ourse, this need for Chosen blood." I said a bit more brightly "But they'd have to be suicidal to try! I'm not going to let anyone harm my friends."
Treena smiled and hugged Alderon. "Thank you!" she said quietly.
Celeste watched. Perhaps the vampire wasn't as bad as she had originally thought.
SHe took a deep breath before approaching Alderon. She extended her pale hand, and smiled gently.
"I'm afraid the two of us got off on the wrong foot," she mused. "Perhaps we could start over?" the angel asked in a hopeful way.
I was a bit surprised by Treena's reaction, the last Chosen I'd told about ll this had told me that they were "no slab of beef." Still it put me in a better mood as I slowly disengaged myself from Treena and shook Celest's hand, nodding my assent with a small smile.
Feeling much better, Celeste walked back to where Donnavon was standing.
Treena stayed with Alderon. She really had no objection to the whole Chosen deal. She actually found it quite exhillerating, in it's own way. Her life had never been qute this exciting, so, who was she to complain?
I smiled down at Treena, glad she wasn't freaked out by the whole deal. I remembered my own theories on what was going on and said to the group "Let's go to my place, rest up a bit. Besides, I need to do a bit of scrying."
Celeste smiled. "Lead the way," she said quietly, taking Donnavon's hand.
Treena's smile faded a bit, remembering the reason they were all there. She only hoped they'd be able to stop the war...
It wasn't all that far a walk, Waterdeep's wealthy mad most of their money off the sea and preferred to be close to it. My father's death was out of my mind until I approache the gates again and noticed the guards down on one knee instead of the customary single bow accorded to an heir. I roaned at the thought, managing clan affairs was so boring. Once inside I handed my cloak to an attendant, turned and said to my friends "I'll show you all to your rooms now. Follow me."
Celeste and Treena followed Alderon slowly. Celeste had a flashback of staying in Lord Lobo's house. She had almost died then....
SHe shook her head, erasing the thoughts.
"Forgive the decor" I said to the group upon reaching the guest wing on the second floor. I took a large silver key out and unlocked the thick door, decorated with an immense ram's head knocker. We hadn't had any guests in centuries according to the family records and the halls were dusty but the tight-fitting doors on each room had left them in servicable condition. All of them were decorated in black and crimson, giving a gloomy, spartan air to them despite the opulance of each. I added "You may have your pick. Would you meet me for dinner at 6:00? The dining hall is on the third floor." After departing, leaving to door ajar and unlocked, I found the tup rising through the center of the mansion and levitated myself up to the top floor, containing the library and sanctum. I busied myself in a book of noble geneologies from around the world first off, looking for any possible blood ties between Luskan and Calimshan.
Celeste walked into the gloomy rooms. She smiled, despite herself.
"Not exactly my choice of color," she kidded gently, seating herself on a couch.
Treena looked around, quietly excusing herself.
She headed out to the ocean, which was withing viewing distance from the mansion. She pulled off her shoes and socks, and dipped her feet into the water.
A small cyclone of water surrounded the girl. It seemingly swallowed her whole.
When it subsided, a mermaid with a shining silver fin floated gently above the water. WIth a graceful dive, Treena submerged herself in the water.
Her auburn hair was now wet and slick as she surfaced. Her silver bikini top shimmered in the waxing light as she swam about playfully.
ooc: Finally done with what I was doing, so I'm back.
ic: "Impressive place." I said, looking around the guest rooms. I myself had no permanent home sicne I had left my parents to do some good in the world, and for that reason had a great deal of spending money I rarely touched. The only time I had spent any of it was to buy a shirt, a pair of jeans, and a very special necklace for my sister and a ring for Celest. I looked to Celest for a second, wondering if she still had teh rings I had given her. i made a mental note to try to build a home like this for her, albeit with a bit brighter decor.
Celeste smiled, seeing Treena out of a large window. She watched as the mermaid playfully splashed and frolicked through the waves.
Her hand strayed to her neck, where she gently toyed with a silver chain. She pulled the cain gently, revealing two rings, a crest ring with a dragon on it, and a golden one with a diamond angel. She smiled again, absently running her fingers along the crest ring.
I smiled as I saw Celest pull out teh rings and sat next to her on the bed. " i see you've taken good care of them." I said to her, starting to reminesce. (sp?) " Do you remember when I gave them to you?" I asked, reflecting fondly on teh memories.
"Nothing" I muttered frustratedly, tossing aside the fourt consecutive geneology. The librarian made a desprate dive to catch the ancient tome and asked rather testily "Would you like to see any others, sir?" I replied "No, but thank you for asking. I'll go to the sanctum now." I pulled the chair back from the imposing oak desk and stood up slowly. The sanctum itself was restircted to nobles of the family only and housed one of the largest collections of scrying devices in the world. I walked over to a particular favorite, a granite bowl filled with pure water. Stirring my finger in it three times counter-clockwise and six clockwise, I willed an image of the Palace of the People of Luskan (a "gift" from the citizens) to appear.
Celeste smiled. "You were trying to run away when the crest ring came into my possesion." she remembered.
"I was very upset when I awoke to find you gone..." she relented quietly. "I'm really glad I came after you..." she whispered.
