Can anyone please point me in the direction of a text editor for ruby/sapphire or (preferably) emerald?

    Thanks!

Can anyone please point me in the direction of a text editor for ruby/sapphire or (preferably) emerald?

Help threads belong in Beginner's Lounge. If you're looking for a quick and easy text editor, try Advance Text. I suggest looking around at the Tools, Tutorials and Resources section for anything you might need. If you're having any trouble, feel free to make a new thread in this section to get help.

I use Advance Text for my current work on Emerald. I'm not sure if there's a better one, Advance Text does work, if a little hard to use. It's an easy program to use for most other G3 games, but for Emerald, you can still edit the text by searching for each entry.

I'm still too new to post links, but a search of Youtube should bring you a good tutorial for how to use Advance Text (and download link will almost certainly be in the description).

No, no, no. A-Text is very outdated and buggy as hell.

For text related to people, signs, scripts yada yada, use A-Map to get the offset of the script with that text in it. Then, copy that offset and open it in XSE. Then, branch to a new offset and type your new text.

For other text, use a Hex-Editor. Use the hex-values of the alphabet to find a certain string of text and BAM.
