Suggestion: Little pics in User Titles

I know that you can have words and that in your title, but what about pictures? small ones? Why don't we make them so everyone can have a picture in the title?

As far as i know thats a staff perk and can only be done by an admin ^-^
Same goes for fancy coloured text and such in usertitles. It's because they'd need to allow HTML which would cause some security problems if it was allowed x]

Pictures are possible in a usertitle, but the thing is, only staff has the privilege of even putting colors in a usertitle. And they don't have access to the usertitle editing like that, they have to ask admins to change it for them so the admins can add in the proper coding to make it how they want. So pictures is one of the perks for being staff I believe, as well as colors.

But we can always use symbols and such, as well as custom Pokemon smilies in our posts and such if we'd like, so not all is lost :)

Oops...), but I really like the idea of having badges in default user titles for every thousand post you make, maybe. Though, for some people, that can be a bit much... Maybe just one badge or something? *shrug*

If it would be reduced to 500, then it would be a bit too easy for users to earn, since a majority of people have less than 1k posts. :<

And one badge sounds good to me.

Do you mean something that would look similar to this? While I probably wouldn't really care one way or the other I do think having little badges in/next to usertitles to represent postcount would be... a little extraneous, especially since we already have a little number that shows our postcount anyway. I am interested in hearing more if your idea is different though! :x

I highly support the idea of having badges like Smogon, but we sort of already have emblems for that, and the fact that we have already images for different user ranks [Smogon uses badges to identify ranks like Forum Administrator, etc] kind of defeats their purpose and would probably clutter up the postbit, but if PC can find a way to make it work, then this would be a great idea.

I could see doing a little badge for every 500 or 1k posts. Perhaps like an exp bar plugin or something, where each post gives so many points based on where it's made? "Level increases" would happen every 1000 posts, and it could replace the "Post count" field in the postbit so we're not cluttering up our postbit.

I'm not a regular on Smogon, so can someone give a full explanation on exactly what badges are? I saw that link to the post but do the pictures mean anything special, do they pick them or is it automatic when you hit a certain post count? I'm a little confused by them xD;;

I'd rather keep the flat number we have than pick up on an 'exp bar' or the like. Besides, I'd imagine an exp bar to clutter up the postbit moreso than the post count number, lol.

At Smogon, badges are handed out for special occasions. Each one is very specific and it's more like acknowledging the person for being particularly helpful to the community, for making certain accomplishments, for being on forum staff, etc. You can see what each badge means by hovering over it. Thing is, none of their badges have anything to do with post count, so yeah.

The idea of having "badges" was brought up before but the big troubles that we run into with an idea like that are a) cluttering up the postbit like Pachy mentioned; b) running it just the same as Smogon; and c) how similar they would be to emblems we have already. I wouldn't mind something like that to exist simply to recognize members for certain contributions or something but it'd have to somehow be different than what we already have emblems for, etc.
