okay, I have to know, when a pokemon is level 1, how do you check its IVs? The calculator gives such a huge range.

IV's are best calculated at level 100, easy way to do this is to ask one of your friends for a level 100 battle on Wi-fi so you can calculate IV's more accurately, it's in my guide in Movesets and Strategies.
