Unless you were one of those people stalking Spark Unlimited for news on Star Wars Battlefront III(And were disappointed, like me) you probably wouldn't know this. Lost Planet hasn't exactly been too popular since the failure of Lost Planet 2 and so I doubt it was big news that they were making it.
When I heard this announcement, I had never played a Lost Planet game before. In fact, when I learned that Spark had been making a Lost Planet game instead of a battlefront game, I was quite heart-broken. Rather than shun Lost Planet alltogether, however, I went to GameStop and purchased myself copies of both games. Upon playing both games, I was unsure as to how I should feel about this news. I loved the first Lost Planet, but Lost Planet 2 wasn't the best. It seemed as if they had downgraded the series. In my opinion, with how both games turned out, Lost Planet 3 could either fluke, or be another big success. Hopefully Spark has learned from Havok and Capcom's mistakes and will make a nice game. If not, the first game's good enough for me.
I was wondering what your thoughts may be on the announcement. When I saw the trailer for the game, it seemed to me as if they were moving away from the 4-player military team type storyline and heading back into the direction of the individual story with actual emotion.
