I think that is Lot (>_@) and Tadpole, but toad makes sense too.

I could be wrong about this, but I think Lotad's name is formed from the two words LOTus and lillypAD. because he does have a lilly pad on his back, and I could be wrong but i think lotus flowers are the ones that grow on lillypads.
