the lucky egg duplicates normal experience earned, while the Macho Brace duplicates the amount of EV (stat exp) earned. It's different types of exp learnt, and Macho Brace > Lucky Egg.

pokerus is the macho brace equivalent... and macho brace + pokerus is insane EV gaining speed.
Look at it this way... pokerus is exactly the same as macho brace without the speed hinering you.

How do you find Pokerus/Macho Brace? Ok.. look
Macho brace doubles the the amount of gaining speed.
Lucky Egg doubles the experience you earn after a battle.
