nuuu. Everyone msut do something. One import tiles into advance map previously readied, right?
So if I assigned you the task of making tiles, would you be able to do them and then insert them
once I send you the hack?

well it depends do you need me to make brand new ones or pallet editing

Look at the Lumin map. You see the red, yellow, and white areas?
(lava, quick sand, and snow respectively) those are the tiles I want you to make.
You can palette edit for all of them if it
looks nice, but if it comes to a weather-specific tile, like probably a snowman or quicksand tiles, or bubbling lava,
I'd prefer if you edited it/created a whole new tile for it. For basic tiles that you just walk on, of course you can just palette edit.

I can do that. I cant realy edit blocks to make snowmen il just try to pallet edit everything for now. il try to do my best but i dont know what set to edit

The snowman was just an example. Snowmen are too happy
for this hack... But is it possible to do something like that?
You see how FR/LG has those stone pillars that take up like 4 tiles?
is it possible to make weather-specific tiles like that? like a coniferous tree
that takes up 4 tiles?

well i cant just make hole new tiles. I realy dont know haw to do it that well. its possible to do that but i propably couldnt. But il pallet edit so we'll have something done.

When I say make a new tile, I mean completely edit one. You can edit tiles, right?
I'm sure you don't have to replace a tileset. You can create a whole new tileset and insert it
I believe, to my knowledge of A-Map..

I can edit them but not that good

Urk. Okay, for now, just to the basic tiles. Just recolour them into
snow, [quick]sand, and lava. The best tiles for snow and Q.Sand would be
the beach sand. The best for bubbling lava (assuming you can do animations?)
would be the beach water tiles.

Uh. Il get to work as fast as I can

once you're done, I could try to edit, possibly a snow tree? I can't import it or anything,
and I won't evne know if it's the right size for importing or anything. I could printscreen a tile for a tree and then edit it from there, then i'll send it to you so you could import it. Gather the snow, the lava, and the sand all in one tileset if it's possible.

Im not gonna put them in the same one. im gonna use three different ones. I have to start over cause when i was editing the pallet the grass started to look wierd like it turned blue green and white.

this hack gonna kick assss!!!!!! in other words its awesome!!!!! so when is the first beta released?

Of course it will kick (someone something).

Also, most likely no beta... If we release a beta or delta gamma omega eta zeta epsilon or
whatever greek letter you prefer, the story will be spoiled halfway, which is the worst thing.
1) The player might lose interest in the game once they overplay the halved hack
2) It'll leave the player on a cliffhanger and problems might occur during the
time between the first beta and the final project
3) I might consider maybe one pre-release, but nothing's guarateed. I want the
fans (if we'll have any by then) to be satisfied with a FULL story. I won't
release the unfinished, unpolished hack just because people want to see
the cool scripts and features and whatever... I want them to focus on the main
story (which this hack will definitely have.)

Also, first post updated. No more ugly banner! two of the best screenshots
I could find within what was finished (no scripts, scribbled and scrambled buggy text,
uninteresting/unoriginal places, some screwed up tiling). Yes, I know the corner tiles
for the first screenshot are a bit 'iffy' and screwed, but that's why we have mappers.
I mainly just outline the map and design it, and leave the mappers to do the polishing
and to make things neat and tidy, that way it's fair work.

Anyway, Poketto has kindly offered to work on the scripts, so videos and screenshots will
be up soon. Possibly. We have no other scripters, but that's fine. I will give Poketto
the scripts in portions so he can handle it, and hopefully, more scripters will tag along
and see the potential of this hack :P

Sorry for turning this intoa kind of progressing hacks thread (which will be up soon, if
all goes well!), but that's the best thing to talk about at this point, especially since
2 of the members aren't present at this time.. Once everyone's back, I'll assign some
new tasks and things will go smoothly..

I really can't wait for this hack's completion :D

Ok il fix the maps but im not done with the tiles so i cant load them. But if you need me to script anything on them i could do that at the same time. And could I also do more mapping while i have them?

Could you make tiles specially for jumping?
Possibly some type of slanted bush or hill?
It'll be nice if you could also do Snow/Sand/Lava version of this
hill or whatever?

And yes, sure, do the mapping. I might make corrections or give you an outline
of the type of towns I want.. Like I don't want you to make some random
city-like town, and I might specify you like an outline

Oh, I forgot to mention:
This hack will have an ancient-feel to it. It'll be before any of the pokemon games happened.
Also, it will be kind of in the past with village-like houses, no high-tech houses or factories,
or any buildings at all. Later on in the game, there might be a type of "time-shift" in the
era of the game, like an event might occur where "New style of house structure tested and
discovered! Now being represented in ________ City!" and things will get more hi-tech
from then on. Otherwise, there won't be perfectly cut cemented roads or anything. Just gravel
and sand, grass and forests, lakes and ponds. Once again, I must mention that I'm trying to give
Pokemon a new feel. We might also include one or two fakemon. It won't be totally random
fakemon that look weird, but more of "Altered Forms" of pokemon, like West Shellos and East Shellos or Shaymin and Skymin or GirtinA and GiratinO. A few pokemon may have other forms as evolutions through stones. We won't make them look like legendaries or anything, but they
will look different from there normal evolved form.
