Entry #17 - 6th July, 2017

Sailing over towards Mt Pyre I encountered a couple of Pellipers which provided good training for Astrape who eventually leanred discharge after gaining a couple of levels. Then, going inside, I talked to a couple of trainers who shared stories about the death of their Pokemon and how they were buried in Mt Pyre. Climbing the steps, I battled several trainers, including a few double battles which were handy in giving Astrape and Artemis some EXP.

Eventually, I caught a Duskull to add to my team, having never used one before I thought it would be a decent Pokemon to complete my party, I named it Pluto and made my way outside to the side of the mountain. Coming across Team Magma, I battled my way through the grunts and found Maxie, however, he stole the Red Orb and quickly escaped, leaving Courtney to battle me. She only had a Camerupt and was taken down with one use of Surf from Nereus. I then took the Blue Orb and flew back to Slateport City, to track down Team Magma and attempt to stop their submarine from leaving.

Okay so I got back from holiday recently and having completed my journey, this update is gonna be a long one.

Entry #18 - 23rd July, 2017

Pushing into the Team Magma base, I battled my through the various grunts and explored the base through the warp tiles that sent me all over the place. I eventually come across an empty room where I obtained the Master Ball and took down two Electrodes, then finding the dock where the submarine was waiting. Courtney was waiting for me but even though I defeated it with ease, it was too late and the submarine left, giving me no choice but to continue on my journey to Mossdeep City.

After defeating various swimmers, I eventually made it to the island city, and once I'd explored it sights and the space station I took on the gym. Pluto was my main Pokemon to use throughout this Gym, and it gained him several levels to catch up with the rest of my team. I chose to use Gaia and Pluto in the double battle against Tate and Liza -side note, I'm really disappointed at how easy they were compared to the originals- and were able to defeat their Lunatone and Solrock easily, woth Pluto evolving into a Dusclops. Upon exiting the gym however, a beam of light came out of the ocean and I made my way over to Route 128 and dived below the sea to track down Team Magma.

Battling my way through the Seafloor Cavern, I eventually came across Maxie, but after beating him, Groudon was released into the world and made its way towards Sootopolis City. I quickly tracked it down and was given the Magma Suit in order to cross the lava with it. Eventually reaching a cave full of crystals, I battled the Primal Groudon and after Mega Evolving Nereus, I was able to defeat it and avoid calamity. After everything had returned to normal, I flew back to New Mauville and after a discussion with Watson, was able to access Sea Mauville, and obtain a Thunderstone to evolve Astrape. Returning to Sootopolis, I traversed the ice puzzles throughout the gym, defeating some trainers when I failed. When I reached Wallace, my newly evolved Astrape was able to deal with most of his team and I gained the Rain Badge, leaving the Pokemon League as my final challenge.

Before that however, I took a break and headed to Pacifidlog Town to battle some more trainers and relax at the floating town. After, I surfed in search of Ever Grande City, and healed up before entering Victory Road. Surfing and battling my way through the perilous road, I eventually came across Wally at the end of the tunnel and after beating him, made my way onto the Pokemon League.

With Sidney up first, I mostly used Aeolus and Nereus to take down his team, then moving onto battle Phoebe, who fell to a combination of Gaia, Astrape and Nereus. Astrape featured heavily in my win over Glacia too, with Nereus helping out as well. The last member of the Elite Four, Drake, posed the potentially biggest challenge, but Artemis and Nereus were able to defeat him during a tough battle. Then, moving onto the final room, the champion Steven was waiting for me and Nereus was able to take down most of his team with Earthquake and surf, giving me a pretty easy victory.

After becoming the champion of Hoenn and talking to May, we made our way home, travelling through the region and eventually making it back to the small pond on Route 103, which was a fitting place for a final battle against her, having our first battle there as well. Astrape was able to pretty much sweep her entire team and we then walked back to Littleroot Town under the stars, having completed our adventure.
