Should there be a section for discussion on magazines (one for Pokemon and another for general, or only one), or is that topic covered under (Pokemon) General?

...do they even still publish any Pokemon magazines? o_O

Pokemon-related magazines and print would go in Pokemon General. Any other type of magazine fits under Other Entertainment.

    Pokemon World UK

Pokémon Official Magazine (Published in the US and Canada)

A plethora of Beckett and Pojo trading card books

    ...and so on.

While it could certainly be covered under General, I feel there's so much printed media related to the Pokemon franchise that it merits its own section. Obviously new magazines/books are scarce (CoroCoro and Pokemon World UK being the prime examples), but discussion could extend to old references in magazines such as Nintendo Power and Expert Gamer.

Other subjects of note would be books, as there were literally dozens, if not hundreds of books published (both official and unofficial) published during the time of Red and Blue, and even now.

To me it just seems like an area too diverse and populated to lump into a General section where it could be overlooked.

I can tell you now that in my entire time at PC, I've seen maybe 3 or 4 threads regarding any printed Pokemon media (excluding the manga). It most certainly does not need its own forum.

It probably really only merits one discussion thread to encompass all the magazines, to be honest.

What about a "Other Media" forum or sub-forum?

That's pretty much what Other Entertainment and Japanese Entertainment are, though.

Discussions on media, ranging from music to movies and to books that don't belong anywhere else on the forum.

Though that's for "other" media, non-Pokemon related, obviously.

    Isn't that what I just said? :|

I think its fairly obvious that anything that doesn't belong in the other Pokémon related boards belong in Pokémon General, seeing as how the forum description of it says it all, as Erica has already said. Expanding the sub-forum of Pokémon General could be a possibility, but that'll probably only happen if it's needed, which it isn't needed at the moment considering the lack of magazine discussion in the first place.

lmao, I didn't even know there were Pokémon magazines in the first place, let alone them still being published.

You said it, but I had no idea why because that forum isn't Pokemon-related.

The reason I made this thread was because I intended to actually raise discussion (several threads, possibly) on printed media. I wanted to know where the best place for that would be, of which a new area seemed appropriate.

We've already given you the venues to discuss magazines in. Honestly, Other Ent. isn't that active and it encompasses ALL media... what makes you think that one just for printed magazines would be worth its own forum?

Make the threads and, if down the line we get lots of them, then we'll look into adding a forum. No need for it now.

You're the first I've seen ever mention a Pokémon magazine, let alone want to talk about it on a forum. It'll take a lot more to raise the discussion than just posting a suggestion to expand a forum to include something like that. Just create a thread in Pokémon General and let things go from there. You creating a thread doesn't change anything in the member's eyes; discussion does. If there's enough discussion, as I said, (meaning more than just you) then higher staff would probably consider it. Until then, its not going to happen.

I was referring to books and magazine references, not just magazines. But I see both your points.

Did you even read Erica's first reply? I suggest you try rereading it, since you'll find the answers that you are looking for are right in front of your face and have been stated multiple times, not to sound rude or anything. :(

Yes, I did. But as I quoted "Erica", that wasn't implied in the latest statement. And you're sounding quite rude, especially since the discussion was clearly implied to be over by both of you.

Whether you actually take offense or not is just you; however he clearly did not mean to be "rude"( wait, he was rude? o_o; ) whatsoever, as stated in the last part of his post.

Why can't you just go with the thread idea? It isn't hard. ._.
Saying "I was joking" after telling someone you want to kill them doesn't negate the fact you just said something that couldn't be construed otherwise without the final indicator.

And, if you had read my post, I did "just go with the thread idea".
