I have a new region I'm trying to create called Izado (which is a region where technology Is almost nonexistent and Magic is used in conjunction with Pokémon). I'm combining a few scripts together to form a backbone for the story and building up a mythology around it but I'm hung up on the applications and introduction to magic.
I'm kinda bouncing around a few different concepts that I can build from:
1) copying power systems like the Nen mechanics or maybe the Black Clover style of magic
2) utilizing Magic through ritual similarly to the RotoLotto powers
3) a custom system build around fidelity to a specific system or element or practice
4) Something akin to Pokémon Réburst (taking powers and elements FROM the Pokémon to battle; kinda like Digimon Frontier)
5) something using the Trading Cards as a way of casting spells the same way the cards apply energies to utilize various attacks.
I really do want to use this in my world but I'm trying to find out how. Seems like combining Spellcasting and Pokémon seems really cool.
