I'm trying to make a pure, weakness-less, dragon team. These are the pokemons i had in mind

Rayquaza - Dragon, Flying - Air lock
Latias - Dragon, Psychic - Levitate
Latios - Dragon, Psychic - Levitate
Altaria - Dragon, Flying - Natural Cure
Flygon - Dragon, Ground - Levitate
Salamence - Dragon, Flying - Intimidate
Kingdra - Dragon, Water - Swift Swim
Dragonite - Dragon, Flying - Inner Focus

Some of you might say that using only 1 pokemon type is a nono... I know that. That's why I made this thread, to discuss the pro's and con's of this dragon team and how to improve it :P

    Let me know what you think and help me achive my goal as a pure Dragon Tamer ^^;;

    Please Consider:
    EV Training
    Pokemon Nature
    Essential Moves (Offensive/Defensive)

PS: I didnt put this into the simple discussion thread because i think I've asked too much and it may turn out to be a discussion thread +)

    ...you forgot Dragonite

and well...you're just using too many legends, as a dragon trainer

myself, I consider the legendaries CHEAP...sorry

I know there aren't enough to make a 6 member team, so um...double up.

I always use 2 flygon 'cuz it's fast and can be both a physical and special

sweeper...despite it's crap amount of weaknesses.

I do like that all your pokemon team here are actual dragons though.

a lot of people seem to think that many pokemon like charizard and aerodactyl

count as dragons simply because they're part of the breeding group...

*Checks serebii.net* Ahh, and I thought I couldn't get Dragonite into my Emerald =P Now to look for an fr/lg friend ^^ Thanks for correcting me! *Edits post*

That list of dragon pokemon is not my final team, im just listing all dragon typed pokemons out

I used to use Aerodactyl and Charizard. But now im making a Dragon Typed team =)

I think this should be moved to Pok?mon GB Strategies & Movesets

Err think so, but I'm more focused on Emerald pokemons. Anyway, if I'm wrong could someone move it pweese? Thanks

After all, Shelgon is a pure-Dragon, so...

Altough it might sound stupid, a Shelgon might be an interesting addition.
Since it has Rock Head, it can keep using Double Edge without any recoil....

    Shelgon@"Something"
[Careful] to raise SpDef a bit.
    Attack: 252 EV
    Agility: 6EV
    HP: 252 EV

    Double-Edge
    Brick Break
    Aerial Ace
    Rock Slide

I'm not sure if the EV distribution is any good, but since Shelgon is slow, and it's SpDef is low too, I guessed that it'll be better off as a full-attcker who attacks a few times then dies.

o_o;; Pokemon GB Strategies and Movesets forum; You'll get a lot more help there. More useful help.

    Kingdra (F) @ Lum Berry/Cheri Berry/Leftovers
    Trait: Swift Swim
    EVs: 129 Def / 129 Spd / 252 SAtk
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Hidden Power [Grass]
    - Ice Beam
    - Rain Dance
    - Surf

RD and sweep. This is what I used when I had it on my NB team. Berries for paralysis since it gets screwed pretty badly without the speed.

i have some good dragons in my fire red. before my emerald crashed i had all the dragons inthat whole game and i never lost. oh yeah simon whats rd and nb mean? and vba?

    'dewgong used ice beam...'
and 5 of ur listed pokemon are KO...lovely.

ok kingdra is a must since it takes neutral from ice beam.Lati@s and rayquaza are Ubers if that means anything...

Altaria is easily the most useless out of the bunch...Flygon at least gets STABed earthquake.Since its just ingame anything can work.....

    Salamence[jolly]@leftovers
EVs - max Sp and Att
    earthquake
    HP flying/aerial ace[for ingame only]
    dragon dance
    fireblast

    Dragonite[rash]@leftovers
EVs - at least 240 Sp,200SpAtt,100 Att and rest in hp
    ice beam
    thunderbolt
    focus punch
    substitute

    Flygon[jolly]@choice band
EVs - max Att and Sp
    earthquake
    rockslide
HP bug <-return if u can't get it
    quick attack

    U got ur kingdra moveset.....

Now the lati@s [use one] are very cool so....
now its a toss up between altaria and rayquaza...lol.

I think Rain Dancing Kingdra in a dragon team isn't such a good idea.
If Kingdra faints and it's still raining, the opponent might get a Water type out which has Swift Swim.
And since most Water types have Ice Beam on them...

I think you can guess the rest.

use kingdra, salamence, flygon, dragonite, latios and latias, imo. people will ***** at you for using ubers though.

    kingdra@liechi
    EV's: 252 atk/enough for 198 spd/rest in satk
    brave
    -substitute
    -dragon dance
    -flail
    -hydro pump/surf

    flygon@choice band
    adamant/naughty/lonely
    252 atk/252 spd/4 hp
    -fire blast/hidden power bug
    -quick attack
    -earthquake
    -rock slide

    or dragon claw/flamethrower/crunch/hp ice

    lati@s@soul dew
    modest
    EV's: 252 satk/252 spd/4 hp
    -calm mind
    -dragon claw
    -hp fire
    -recover

    salamence@leftovers
    adamant
    EV's: enoughfor 336 hp/400 atk/270 spd/ and give it 40 sdef/rest in def
    -dragon dance
    -earthquake
    -aerial ace/hp flying
    -rock slide/fire blast

    i still use DDMence :(

Thanks a bunch guys, that really helps. Btw what's HP bug/flying?

It means "Hidden Power bug/Flying. And good luck on your Dragon team. I?m thinking of making a pure fire team. :P Is this team for competitive or for in game battling?

That won't be much of a problem as long as Kamahi has something that can hurt water types. Only about six Pokemon with Swift Swim have enough base Sp. Atk. to OHKO a Dragon with a 4X Ice weakness (without crit. or hax), according to NB's damage calc.

I like this one. Make "something" a Choice Band too.

Hmm... I might need lightning attacks then... But I dont think it would fit in

Use the Dragonite moveset that Ice gave you. You can also try to catch the ones that share a Rock+Water type on the switch or some predicting with FP. Either Salamence moveset from kohei or Ice would work as well if you've used DD...I think...

    Meh... o_o;;
