Male And Female pokemon

PokemonChamp said:
i told you already! females ARE a bit weaker then male pokemon. clearly you all know nothing about pokemon gender.
And you clearly know nothing about EVs, IVs, and natures. Figure out how those affect stats before you say anything else.

Really people, stop saying that females are weaker. If you did actually undertand the natures and what stats they raise, those IVs and what pokemon has gained more effort value points in a certain area then you wouldn't be saying females are weaker. If you still think that females are the weaker pokemon sex, then get two male pokemon at the same level. Look and compare the stats. Some are lower, some are higher, and they're both male. So stop saying that males are stronger.

Believe what you want, 'PokemonChamp', but Males and Females are the same. Simon knows what he's talking about.

In Gold\Silver\Crystal, a male's Attack DVs will be between 2-15, while a female's Attack DVs will be either 0 or 1. That was the ONLY difference.

For those that don't know, the number that determines a pokemon's stats compared to it's minimum or maximum is it's DVs, or IVs in the Advance games. DVs and IVs are basicly the genes that determine the stats. DVs can be 0-15 (00-0F in Hex) while IVs can be 0-31 (00-1F in hex). The difference it makes is that the higher the DV\IV, the closer the stat is to it's maximum.

For example:

In Gold\Silver\Crystal, a female can have these max DVs:

Attack: 2
Defense: 15
Sp Att: 15
Sp Def: 15
Speed: 15

While a male's max DVs are these:

Attack: 15
Defense: 15
Sp Att: 15
Sp Def: 15
Speed: 15

-----

In the Advance games, both genders can have these max IVs:

HP: 31
Attack: 31
Defense: 31
Speed: 31
Sp Att: 31
Sp Def: 31

----------------

If you want to know about values like these, I suggest you read this guide:

Genders do not influence stats in any way.

However, 2 pros for getting females:

1) Female versions of unique pkmn like starters are breedable and can be used for breeding chains.
2) Most ppl think males are "cool" and use them, so in a link battle you're more likely to battle males, so you could teach an annoyer Attract, which will really mess up the opponents plans. XD
