Okay, I have been seeing a pattern with the new evolutionary and pre-evolutionary lines of each generation. Every new form is gotten in a way that was impossible in previous games.
For example:
You cannot breed in RBY, thus no Pichu, Elekid, etc.
You cannot not trade with hold items in RBY.
Pokemon hold items weren't used for breeding in GSC.
You don't have access to a Protector, Dusk Stone, Rose Incense, etc. in RSE.
So the point is, up until now, the new evolutions were the result of cases which were impossible in the past. But now we have some exceptions:
Piloswine can learn Ancientpower in previous games, via breeding.
Lickitung can learn Rollout in previous games, via Emerald Move Tutor.
Anyone think this to be odd as well, or am I just acting crazy again, heh. The one thought that came to mind is that perhaps they'll only evolve in Sinnoh when they learn the moves. As in, it wouldn't occur in the GSC remake.
And if not, I wonder if we'll ever see Lapras evolve from a Water Stone. XD
