Man trapped in coma for 23 years - was conscious the whole time

Speaking of which, I wonder what his dreams were about after ten or twenty years of nothing.

I can't imagine how horrible that must've been at the start, I mean I know it must've been awful the whole time but after a while I would imagine he became quite detached from reality. :|

Wow. This kinda stuff is why I lean towards atheism sometimes. Seriously wtf? Poor guy.

At least Tom Hanks had Wilson.

lolwut? :\

If anything this strengthens my belief in protecting God-given rights of patients like the right to life, my opposition to euthanasia, and support of the modern day Hippocratic Oath.

I'm not gonna go down this road man lol. I'm glad you have a strong believe in the Hippocratic Oath though. I'm all for not harming the patient:D (A little bi*ch slap here and there sometimes serves it's purposes). Jk!

A long time to miss out on living:/

That is the most horrific thing I have read. :( The grief he must have went through inside of his head. To hear about his dad passing away, and not being able to do or say anything about it? That is just one horrible life. How he pulled through is what amazes me the most. How he just survived a coma for 23 years is just plain crazy. I don't think I'd be able to pull off being in a coma for 32+ years.

Kudos to you, Rom Houben, for surviving an accident and being able to pull off through a coma. You are one amazing dude! (b' ')b
