Many pokedexes?

I think it would be awesome to have around 600 Pokemon in Alola. They could probably manage it pretty easily since even without new Pokemon we already have 721 Pokemon and legendaries count for about what?.......50+ of that? (I think it's definitely less than 100)

I feel like the QR code scanning will feed into having a large pokedex somehow.

Yeah, but without new pokemon, would cause mass complaints. People were already extremely upset with.... 72 new pokemon. I am hoping there isn't as many old pokemon. I just didn't really like it much.

I think it has been said before, but I think Hoenn was almost dead on with the mixture of old and new. Although I would still prefer mostly new at the start and then unlock a lot after the Elite 4. I think BW2 also had a nice mixture.

And even BW was amazing. Yeah we had to start with all new pokemon, which I personally loved, but we unlocked a good amount after the Elite 4.

Suppose we get 120 (seems like a decent number), making 842 (magearna doesn't count as one of the 120) in total. I think we would have about 3/5 of that, so there's a decent amount of pokemon in the remake/third version if we get one.

Yup, I mentioned that about Hoenn. B2W2 was roughly half Gen V, and the rest Gen I-IV.

I miss all the old mons we could see post E4. XY didn't really have that. (nor did the original RS).

Speaking of RS. Kalos having 450ish mons could've been due to GF having had issues with the Poketransfer and Pokebank. Early on they said (think it was Masuda himself) that they were trying to figure out a way to transfer Pokemon from V to VI. Kalos is a big region, but the possiblity that 450ish mons were in it's dex could have been a way of giving us access to as many mons as possible until they figured something out, or worst case scenerio, they hadn't. Thinking of it that way we might get less.
I also see very few Kanto mons being added to get people to buy R(G)BY's on the VC or XYOrAs if they don't already have them, to transfer the Kanto mons.

If it's 400 I hope we get 120 new so it'll at least be more than 1/4 of the mons in Alola pre-National dex. Maybe we could even get an island with all new mons (like the starting island) to make it feel a little like BW Unova's dex. The rest could have most rare old mons. Kukui's mention of rare pokemon makes me think that we'll get a decent number of new Pokemon, as well as Pokemon that haven't appeared in a regional dex for a long time such as Meowth, the Nidos, and so on.

I presume they'll do something similar to Kalos, break the Pokedex into different sections. I could likely see each island getting its own Dex and that will make for a huge amount of Pokemon catchable in-game.
I 2nd this. It makes the most sense to me really
