    So why is it that women's nipples are so taboo? Men's nipples aren't, and as far as I can see, they are exactly the same. Hollywood shows all of the breast but nipples in non-R-rated movies. And, in America at least, it's illegal for a woman to breastfeed her baby in public.

    What is up with that?

    Ehe, I never understood this either... after all, mazophilia is a fetish.
    In a lot of cultures, women don't cover their breasts... it just seems to be a trend in developed societies, and its origin is disputed.
     
    Yea I asked the same question. But it's more of a fetish for guys I guess....

    If I'm not mistaken, women don't feel the same way towards a man's chest as men do towards a woman's. Breasts are definitely more sexual, and men's nipples just... aren't. :/

    First off, wow. It would be cool?? Um.... ok.

    But the reason women's breasts are more sexual is because we have made it that way. Society has made it that breasts are taboo, because guys fancy them. EX: Allthough its owuld be cool. See what I mean?
     
    A nipple is a nipple. I dont see why they are made such a big deal of. We all have them.

    edit - Now after reading other responses, I now see why. Little boys like a few here would abuse it and make women feel uncomfortable and it would just be plain anoying to go to a movie when nipples are shown and all the little boys start giggling.

    Female breasts are a sign of sexual maturity. Our instincts tells us that if a woman has large breasts, they will be good mothers.

    And also yes people do make a mountain out of a mole-hill about them but could you imagine a topless woman walking down the street?

    It's only weird because norms (like taboos, except weaker) say it's weird.
     
    I think part of the reason a woman's nipples are so sexual is because showing them in public has been a taboo in western culture for so long. Besides, I would definatly not want to walk down the street without a shirt.
    I've always hated nipples. I don't know why. :'|
