Oh, since you're reading this: one of you go ask Fox♠ or Amachi if you can host June's. We're already 5 days in, and I don't wanna do it again yet.

Anywhoo, 1st - 3rd place up, 5th+ will be up soon.

The winner of this month's contest is... Fox♠ !

I'm sure I've said this before, but I love your simple spriting style. The mountains look rough and natural, the trees/bushes are the perfect shade of green.. it's practically perfection.

    Second Place goes to Vannah☆.

I just love how fluffy and cuddly the shading makes this look. The colors blend, yet contrast just enough.

The front leg, on the side facing away from us, seems just a bit off. Too much of the darkest shade, and maybe it's a little too thick as well? Also, the edges of the snow (?) could use a bit of work. Still, very, very good.

Third Place is a tie, between gp_arts39 and Espeon~.

This is very interesting, and the earth is very nicely done. I'm assuming the earth + green are meant to be an eye? I think the point of the piece would've been more clear, had it just been white. With the green, the rings of shading stand out a little too much. You have a little too much contrast between shading rings 3 & 4, and 5 & 6. The tears are okay, but a little more smoothness in the shading would've been nice. I like the stem of the flower. The petals are a little awkward, but I suppose that's to be expected of a drooping flower. I think it would've looked more natural if you had it bending more like an upside-down "J" and having the base of the petals covered with the flower's sepals, which would then attach to the stem. In this, it looks like it's just sticking through the petals. The petals are shaded okay, except that the darkest color contrasts just a bit too much. It's most noticeable on the third petal. Also, this may have gained a few more points had it been entered in the March pixel art contest, as it's more related to the environment than spring.

Nice detail for such a small piece. The shape of the flower is a little lopsided, but that may just be because of the odd perspective. The shading is pretty good, except for a few places on the bottom of the flower where the outline gets a little dark. The clouds are cute, though it would've been a little better if you had either copy/pasted the same cloud or made them all different. Two being the same and the third being different just bugs me for some reason. The hills are shaded well, except for the part near the bottom. Those bottom two colors contrast with the others a bit too much. My last problem is.. where is your light source? I'm assuming it's the sun, but the shadow of the flower is going towards the sun, which really makes no sense. Overall, it's pretty good.

    Yay... third... T_T

Oh, well, i thought it was great! Anyhow, great job to fox and vannah...

i loved the shading and the look of the texture on vannah's work. something that kinda threw me on that one though was the outline of the puddle... it looked to strait in some places... but still, not meaning to take away, it was AWE INSPIRARING!

And fox... that wasn't what i would call perfect... it's more like spriting godly... that should be your new name... Spriting God! All hail!

But really, it was great! It had such an amazing look to it, and it was just so well done in it's simplicity!

Congrats you two! And can't forget Espeon! Great job too!

Great job to everyone who entered!

Anyway, a little bio on my piece:

The earth represents not only an eye, but a delicate system that is dependent on it'self. When the pollution, which is represented through the green haze, shrouds the eye, it is prone to bleed... thus represented in the tear. This painful experience leads to secondary succession... or a rebirth. In result you get spring!

Yeah, it's a bit wordy... but you get it...

    Great Job everyone, thanks Kenji!

    Keep Spriting!

Ah, at least that gives a reason for the green. XD

And I knew I forgot to comment on something in Vannah's. *edits in*

Congratz Fox! I just love how you sprited your piece!

    @Kenji:
it's kinda... long before you posted the results.....
must hard deciding who's 1st, 2nd and so on :D

Nah, choosing who wins is usually not the most difficult part. It's basically just finding who has the most errors in relation to the complexity of their entry, maybe plus or minus a few points due to relevancy to the theme and creativity. Actually writing down all the positive comments and criticism is what's hard.

Also, mixing multitasking with laziness is generally not a good idea.

Anywhoo, I'll most likely be posting the next 5 (?) tomorrow afternoon, unless something unexpected comes up, in which case, tomorrow night. If any of those left want me to hurry and give them their comments first, feel free to leave me a VM, and I'll do yours real quick.

I hope someone volunteers to host soon... I was thinking about entering this month.

I'll host if you want bro. I'll think of a theme and have the thread up by tonight.

    Congrats everyone.

And that's my 3rd/4th first placer, get in X3

Yay, third place. :D I thought I would get 4th+ XD
Congratulations Fox! :D You deserve first. :)
Also, congrats to Vannah and =GPR= too. :D

So, when does the June contest start? The month is nearly half over...

Due to not being able to find a host and the fact me and Amachi are both at hectic points in our education we've decided to skip June and resume again in July. Unless of course someone comes forward to host.
