    I'm not much of a poet...but I had to do SOMETHING and drawing was a dud...so here we go. Hope this is good for you guys.

    Me and the World
    The world opens its' arms to me
    Cradles me in its' tender embrace
    I shove the world to the side
    It is something I'd rather never face

    What has the world done for me?
    A question those must ponder
    As I think deeply through this question
    my mind and my body wander

    Deep thought guides me
    Intuition shows the way
    I explore my surroundings
    Through light and night every day

    I soon see around me that
    the world has a second side
    Poverty reigns supreme
    Even though it tries to hide

    As I travel to and fro
    I stumble upon a discovery
    Destruction and war rears its' ugly head
    I turn around and flee

    I can't handle these three of many defects
    that the world must endure
    It soon sheds some light
    And on this fact I'm sure

    Although the world has its' darker sides
    It'll still give you a chance
    But I'm still hesitent to believe that so
    I ready into a stance

    The world has me backed
    deep with the corner to my back
    I refuse to give them a shot to help me
    And then I leap to attack

    The world never helped me out
    but as the battle rages on
    the world shows its' true might
    and soon I am gone

    I caused my downfall by not believeing
    This is a proven fact
    Give the world, and everyone, a chance
    with you it'll make a pact

    That if you are willing to help the world
    rather than reject
    The world will turn to you
    and show you some respect

    This life lesson
    Far and few between
    Not many people intake
    not many can be seen

    but the few that exist
    are the worlds' best friend
    But what has the world done for me
    I will ask you once again.
     
    Well. I like it. I liked the way you have put an issue into it and have tried to build it up from there. Very good work. =)

    You should do more poems Cy, you have great potenial. And potenial is nothing wihout performance so please perform your heart out.
