[Game Journal] Mega gives thoughts on Gaming News & Games Currently Playing

Well... I guess I have no choice at this point...

I OFFICIALLY FORGIVE YOU FOR EVERYTHING CAPCOM

AAI2 IS FINALLY GETTING LOCALIZED AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER.

MAKE ALL THE DAMN RESIDENT EVIL YOU WANT
(even though I'll still never play it) CONTINUE TO TREAT ACE ATTORNEY LIKE THIS AND WE'RE GOOD

YOU ARE FORGIVEN CAPCOM. FOR EVERYTHING.

I guess I should start calling them CapGOD now too... huh...?

For anyone who cared or was interested in it... a demo for Metaphor ReFantazio is now available on Xbox and PS5. This will definitely help me determine on if it's a game for me or not.

Be forewarned though... I'm hearing the demo is long. So be prepared to play for quite awhile... 😓

Wow. There are only two months until the end of the year. I have to be completely and brutally honest with you... this hasn't been a 'great' year for me in terms of the games I've played, the anime I've watched, or even my Bold Predictions. Just not a 'great' year for me overall I guess in terms of my main entertainment (anime & video games).

But it is what it is. I guess. I'll treat my end of the year lists just as seriously as I do any other year. There's still time left too. Technically. It's just not looking like a great list. Similarly to last year except without a STACKED anime list all year.

Man these years fly by anymore... don't they? It always seems like they won't... and then all of a sudden it's December lol.

Here we go again. As I decide to reveal them. Pretty much all throughout the month. Longer and more in-depth video versions can be found and watched on my YouTube channel as per usual and normal.

These will be the TL;DR versions.

Mega's Personal Anime of the Year Part 1: Special Awards (I go by what I watched in the year)

Uzumaki wins Disappointment of the Year
Pokemon Horizons wins Best Ongoing Anime
Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc wins Underrated Anime of the Year

As always... create your own list and awards. Special Awards for my personal Game of the Year will be next. take a wild guess what wins disappointment of the year

Now it's time for video games. Same as last time with anime... special awards first. The games that I played this year... were somehow worse or 'weaker' than last year. Nothing to be done about it though. Should finally be changing next year hopefully. Nothing really 'stood out'. Oh well. I guess.

Mega's Personal Game of the Year Part 1: Special Awards (I go by what I played in the year)

Tales of Arise (PS5) wins Disappointment of the Year
Tokyo Xanadu eX+ (PS4) wins Underrated Game of the Year
Sly Cooper Franchise (PS3) wins Deserves to Come Back Award

As usual... more in-depth video version on my YouTube channel. TGA is coming up. But I might go ahead and reveal my Top 3/4 for my Personal Anime of the Year before TGA airs/happens.

Due to... something... I may have to change my Top 3/4 for my personal Game of the Year. Is it biased? Yes. Yes it is... and I could fucking care less.

Mini-break from my end of the year stuff.

So... TGA is tonight. I'm literally doing nothing different. Literally. I'm going in with no expectations and expecting nothing to interest me in the slightest. I don't care about Half Life 3. I don't care about GTA 6. I don't care about Witcher 4. I'm sorry I just don't.

My personal hopes (keyword) are Persona 6, FF9 Remake or KH4 but I'm not expecting any of these. Let's just make sure to call out the BS of 'Please Wrap It Up' again (I feel like it'll return and might even be worse)

If I get one thing that hypes me up, interests or intrigues me... that'll be good enough. It'll have to be.

Either way enjoy the show to those who choose to watch it.

ASTRO BOT SWEEP.

With that out of the way... my review of the Bold Predictions I made for 2024 last year is now available on my YouTube channel.

TL;DW... they were 100% incorrect. Although, technically speaking, one is still an ongoing situation (Sony/PlayStation acquisition). I haven't been doing well with Bold Predictions the last couple of years. Is that going to stop me from making them? I think you already know the answer to that... (No. No it isn't lol)

Not much else to really say at this point. Time for final list reveals. Anime up first.

Mega's Personal Anime of the Year Part 2

Overall Special Mention (de-facto #4): Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc
#3: Mashle S2/Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc
Anime of the Year 2024 Runner-Up (#2): Steins;Gate franchise
Anime of the Year 2024 (#1): Nier Automata Ver1.1a (Cour 2)

Nier just wins everything for me. It's just that damn good I'm sorry.

But this is why you make your own personal lists.

Here's my final list before I start talking about 2025 stuff. Again longer more in-depth versions are on my YouTube channel

Mega's Personal Game of the Year Part 2

Overall Special Mention (de-facto #4): Tokyo Xanadu eX+ (PS4)
#3: Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series (PS5)
Game of the Year 2024 Runner-Up (#2): Kirby and the Forgotten Land (Switch)
Game of the Year 2024 (#1): Pokemon Legends Arceus (Switch)

If it's any consolation... there wasn't really much else that really 'stood out' this year. Either way... Pokemon has finally won my personal GOTY for the first time since Omega Ruby on 3DS.

The only things left are my 'Most Anticipated' for 2025 and my Bold Predictions for 2025

Time to start talking about 2025 now. What I'm looking forward to the most first. In other words... my Most Anticipated for 2025

Mega's Most Anticipated for 2025:

Most Anticipated Anime: Rooster Fighter
Most Anticipated Game (That I'll Actually Play): Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (Switch)
(no Most Anticipated Game due to there being nothing 'big enough' that I feel deserves it. Ridiculous and disappointing as I've always had that but nothing to be done about it)

Well this is it... the last thing I do. Once again as always, longer, more in-depth version with reasoning and explanation available on my YouTube channel.

I don't care that all of my Bold Predictions for this year were incorrect (which they were) it's not going to stop me from trying again. Here are my Bold Predictions for things I think will happen in 2025.

Mega's Bold Predictions for 2025:

1. Persona 6 will be released
2. Pokemon Generation 10 will come out in 2025
3. There will FINALLY be Kingdom Hearts 4 news AT SOME POINT
4. There is no Video Game Crash in 2025 *waves hand like I'm doing the Jedi mind trick or some shit*

Yes I know about the report/leaks about 2 not happening. I'll believe it won't happen when I see it for myself. 4 is my yearly 'controversial' one and response to all the BS about this being the case all through the year. Because that's all it is... BS

That's all from me. See you in 2025.

Wow. I haven't posted in this for the first time in 2025 yet? Let's change that... shall we...? 😈

You all should know what is coming. Nobody should be surprised either.

DIGIMON

DIGITAL MONSTERS

DIGIMON ARE THE CHAMPIONS

WE ARE SO GOD DAMN BACK

Now... the real work begins... to show those god damn SAO simping, anime game, fighting game, anime fighting game assholes to stop their fucking BS and show more support and love to this franchise. Because we all know they won't promote or market this game. So we, as Digimon fans, must do so. But I'm sure everyone knows that. I knew that.

Let the work begin.

You will see you dumbasses. You will see. 😈

Slight update on the above post...

Cyber Sleuth and Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory did not receive an english dub. The last Digimon game that got an english dub... was Next Order (not a great game IMO)

Looks like the new one is getting one.

I. CANNOT.

THIS GAME ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO SUCCEED NOW. PLEASE SHOW AS MUCH SUPPORT TO THIS GAME AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.

Digimon Con has come and gone. I still feel like there's no point to it I'm sorry. Most of the stuff they talk about is stuff nobody really cares about.

Here's a basic summary of important points:

Still no release date for Time Stranger (I wasn't expecting one honestly)
450 obtainable Digimon. The most of any Digimon game thus far (I was hoping for 500 but I'll obviously take this)
Digimon TCG app similar to Pokemon TCG Pocket announced. Beta later this year (no specific date given)
New anime announced that will begin in October. No information other than one piece of art. (at least it's not Adventure. I guess. I need more info)

Clearly I won't be getting a Nintendo Switch 2 anytime soon. Maybe I'll get lucky and my parent will be willing to try to get it for me for Christmas. I was going to get Mario Kart... but I refuse to support this ridiculous BS attempt to increase game prices as much as $20

That's all I have to say and I'm sorry that I'm saying the quiet part out loud again and saying something most don't want to hear and most don't like.

Except I'm not actually sorry at all.

Since this is my thread... I can do whatever the hell I want.

Now that the $80 video game future is here already... looks like I have no other choice but to go back to being nitpicky about what games I buy and play again. Which is BS that I have to do this because I've far expanded the type of games I buy and play compared to 5 years ago, or hell, even compared to 2 to 3 years ago. Might have to stop buying on Day 1 as well (should I have done this already? Sure maybe) and wait a couple of months or for a sale of a game I want to buy and play.

Thanks a lot Nintendo.
