Well, as you know, whenever a holiday comes up, nearly everything in the media correlates to that in some way. Especially Christmas.

Weeks before the holiday, they start playing Christmas specials, and all you can hear on the radio is "Santa Baby" and "Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer." Of course, that also just has to carry through until after the holiday as well.

For me, this drives me crazy. I'm about fed up with Christmas by the time it arrives. People wonder why I don't have spirit and this is why. I would like to be able to turn on my TV and not have to watch the movie Elf or the god-awful Grandma got run over by a Reindeer(Worst movie ever. I literaly headdesk every time it comes on). It would be nice to flip to the music choice channel and hear some Green Day, or the very least one of those hip-hop artist that I don't keep track of.

This all boils down to one point:

Are you sick and tired of the change in media that is made to reflect the holiday?

No, if you don't want to watch or listen to Christmas programs then change the channel/station.

Because, I can't. Nearly everything is Christmas related. Also, it wouldn't just be the media but also the "Merry Christmas" texts that I get at two in the morning =/. Then continuously throughout the day.

To be fair mate, you can do something about it.
You can watch a film that isn't Christmas related, there are always non-christmas films on.

As for the texts, there isn't anything you can really do expect put your phone on silent. That is what I do.

Then only use the phone when you need to. I don't understand why you need it on at two in the morning anyways. I find it hard to believe that every day for at least half a month that almost everything relates around Christmas. If you get an too much of anything it gets annoying. Too me it is not too hard to avoid Christmas in media, unless you don't own your own radio or tv then you a forced to listen and watch what everyone else does.

Okay, maybe I over-exaggerated. As for having my phone on at 2AM, that is because I was in fact up and about. Everyone was. Anyway, you've raised pretty valid points. Perhaps I just dislike it all because Christmas is never very merry for me.
