  • My Roserade vs. Clafairy:
Clefairy uses Metronome. I was hoping on a weak move like Splash... It turned out to be Frenzy Plant.
But Roserade survived, and Clefairy used Metronome again. I was thinking 'It probably won't be a strong move again'.
...Turned out the be Aeroblast... Roserade KO'd

  • One time, I was EV training my Togetic before I evolved him. He was holding a Power Lens. I was in the Old Chateau. I ran into a wild Gastly. I had my Togetic use Metronome, which became Fling. The wild Gastly fainted, but I lost the Power Lens. I was a little angry at the time, but I have another Power Lens now.

Wait, when was Fly a TM? Hasn't it always been a HM?
    No, what I mean was, when Metronome was a TM and you could teach the move to Snorlax. Snorlax's metronome landed it on the rather comical move of Fly. XD;

  • What were the weirdest experiences you've had with Metronome?

Probably the weirdest one I can think of (other than the one I posted about the Mew using Explosion) is I once had a Togepi that knew Metronome, and there was one time it used Blast Burn three times in a row.

Yeah I really don't use Metronome that much.

But I thought it was so funny to see a tiny Togepi keep using Blast Burn. ^_^

    Ponyta: Tackle
    Togepi: Metronome turns into splash
    Ponyta: Ember
Togepi: Metronome turns into self destruct

    I raged.

  • I never really had a bad one. I had a funny one though:
    Snorlax used Metronome!
    Snorlax used Fly!
    Venusaur used Sleep Powder!
    Venusaur's attack missed!
    Snorlax used Fly! Critical hit!
    Venusaur fainted!

    Gotta love pokemon stadium.

    I'm siggy-ing that too - it's hilarious xD

    Well... Mine was:

    "Munchlax used Metronome!"
    "Munchlax used Memento!"
    "Munchlax fainted!"
    "Buizel's Attack harshly fell!"
    "Buizel's Sp.Attack harshly fell!"

@ Battle Factory - so close to winning too, at my 20th Streak

What does a Munchlax have as a memento for Buizel anyways??

  • Hahaha, I used to love metronome back in the day. It's not the greatest move, but it was pretty fun ^_^

For me, the only thing that really sticks out was my Togepi getting Sacred Fire. It missed, and I was like, "NoNoNoNoNo!!!! I wanna see it!!!" (I never got my Ho-Oh to learn it.)
Then it got it again like two batles later. This one ht, I was like, "WOOT!!!" :3

I never had a metronome moment, but the move looks annoying.
    Skitty's assist move is better.

  • Ah yes, Metronome, one of my favourite attacks. In fact, it probably is my favourite attack. I remember my Togepi in Silver once used Sacred Fire with it, and my Clefable in Diamond used Judgment. ^_^

And yes, I've found that Metronome does help with some battles. For example, in Diamond:

    Mr. Mime used Light Screen.
Clefable used Magical Leaf and did about 1/8 damage.
    Mr. Mime used Psybeam.
    Clefable used Metronome.
    Clefable used Night Slash.
    Mr. Mime fainted.

Haha, that Night Slash was just what I needed. But on the other hand...

    Drifblim used Payback.
    Clefable used Metronome.
    Clefable used Swords Dance.
    Clefable's Attack sharply rose.
    Drifblim used Gust.
    Clefable used Metronome.
    Clefable used Hi Jump Kick.
    It doesn't affect Drifblim...
    Clefable kept going and crashed!
    Clefable fainted.

  • How about this one?

I was raising my Togepi into a Togetic in LG. His only hurting move was Metranome, and it was throwing Frenzy plants, Blast burns, Hydro cannons, Hyper beams, Meteor Mashes, an Explosion... lots of bad moves to. He had 3 pp left going into the wild battle...

    A wild Rattata appeared!
    Go! Toga!
    Toga used Metranome!
Toga used Razor Leaf! (rattata with about 2/3 to go)
    Rattata used Tackle!

    Toga used Metranome!
Toga used Charm! (attack down anamation)
Me: ARGG! YOU ALREADY KNOW CHARM!
    Rattata used Tackle!

    Toga used Metranome!
    Toga used Doom Desire!
Toga chose Doom Desire as it's destiny!
...Now, you must understand, I had never had a Jirachi, and was in a car, and didn't know what the move did. So I stuck around for a few turns.

    2 turns later...
Toga used Charm! (attack down anamation)
Rattata used tackle! (1 health left)
Toga (blah blah blah, I forgot this part. Something about doom)
    Rattata fainted!
    Toga gained 65 exp!

    Me o_O WTF!

In shiny gold, in the slowpoke well,

    Togapi used Metranome!
Togapi used Mist Ball (WTF IS THIS?!?)
    It's super effective!
    Foe Koffing fainted!

... I later learned Mist Ball is a Latias exclusive, Psychic type, 70 base power move with a REALLY good side effect.

It happened a few times. In crystal i was fighting Whitney and she sent out cleffa or clefairy.

I sent out slowpoke and being very slow whitney attacks and it uses metronome. Out of all the moves in Gold,Silver, and Crystal it used Bite.
    Ouch for slowpoke.

Also my brother used metronome in Platinum, came up with a roar of time.

  • Way back in Red, I gave my Mewtwo Metronome because I thought it would be cool. Little did I know what was about to happen...

    Mewtwo used Metronome.
    It resulted in... another Metronome.
    It Metronomed again and got...
    Another Metronome.
    Which resulted in Petal Dance.

Three Metronomes in a row, that's just weird. I guess my Mewtwo was a secret performance art fan...

Also, in Diamond, my Togepi used a variety of moves including Roar of Time, Hydro Cannon, Blast Burn, and Needle Arm (which I find funny since that would just be a tiny poke).

that's odd seeing as Metronome can't call itself

  • The best thing to come out of Metronome was Earthquake out of my Togepi, while I was training him up against a Shinx. I don't know who was more shocked - me, Togepi or the EQ'd Shinx...

    Metronome...

I once had a togepi in lv. 17 and it used metronome. It used Sacred Fire on my oponent and killed him. So has something like this ever happened to you.
