Minus Mini-games? Huhwhat?!

Or better yet, Warioware has very good minigames. Thats also worth a look.

^^

Yeah, Wario ware is fun, and the new Mario Party looks cool. I personally love mini-games, and Nintendo HAS been specializing in them since before computers were even a pipe dream. Back when they were a brothel/Casino and toy shop. lol. ^^

That happened because of all the flamming and insults. This is a civil conversation about the lack of mini-games. I don't care those mini-games, but wouldn't mind them. They were a nice little diversion. Lets keep this disscusion civil. If you don't like em', fine.

Oh, god, please don't start another "Whine-about-a-lack-of-mini-games-in-a-competitive-3D-Pokemon-game" topic. Look how "Outrage" ended up.

HAHA I read that, it got rather hilarious. I had to use the restroom after reading it all.

I should hope so, I like mini-games its fun to get more in your game than one thing. Specially at a fifty dollar price tag. That was one thing I liked about Stadium and easily justified getting it, when I was poor and got my gramma to get them for me. LOL. .. Anyways, yeah. I figure Nintendo will probably release another edition of Pokemon Box for the Wii, as well as some sort of Warioware-esque Pokemon game for the Wii. And want to franchise of that.
Would be my guess.

I just hope that it won't be bad. Developers thinks that they could make whatever low quality crap they want, and just slap a Pikachu on the box. And unfortunatly, it works.

Yeah like the Pikachu I choose you, and the tamagatchi pikachu thing. Those were horrible.

Uhhh Think it's called Pokemon BATTLE Revolution not Pokemon Mini Game Revolution, Who know the next Wii Pokemon game could have Mini games but PBR is for people like Ichida and I and many others who like competitive Battling not Mini Games... I'm agreeing with Ichida either play Wii Sports, Wii Play, or Mario Party 8

Furaki, we said that earlier. Why do people get so upset with this topic? Seriously, not everyone has to agree.

I agree with you, though. I don't think that PBR needs mini games.

The End.

Oh well, thanks all who answered my thread in a friendly manner. Everyone else.... Anyways. Im done with this thread, so continue to reply if you want to. But, peace and unto the next one.

In regards to the comment that PBR is only a tagalong to DP, I wish to say that that may be true, but it's still worth the fifty smackers because in essence, ALL pokemon home console games have been meant to enhance the enjoyment of their gameboy counterparts, save for a few that obviously deviated from the main branch of pokemon (Snap, Puzzle League, Hey you Pikachu, Channel) All the others have been geared towards the GB enthusiasts. Pokemon Stadium was just a way for you to see your pokemon in 3d for the first time. they had the gameboy tower so you could play without having to take the game out, a gym leader tower and a colosseum where you could see your pokemon in 3d battle, a free play area where you could battle against a friend, and minigames as just a little side distraction. POkemon Stadiums 2 took this same formula and pushed it just a little further. both games had awards you could win that could actually be sent to your GB game.

Colloseum and XD, the formula for the classic pokemon game as seen on the GB is there. battling and raising, working your way through the story. the key function that shows although it's its own game, it's also a GBA tagalong, is that it had GBA battle mode, the battle tower allowed you to use your GBA team outside of story mode, and you could trade the pokemon you caught in game into your GBA once story mode was completed.

All PBR is is a step back towards the more popular console games - POkemon stadium 1/2- with a refined focus, a new age feel, better rewards, and approached from the competitive level. Obviously catering to the pokemon elite and less so for average joe, but then again the elite is all they've really been catering to alll along. If you don't like battling, if you aren't of a competitive spirit and willing to push your team to improve, and test their abilities, then this game obviously isn't for you. If you like testing what you have, putting your pokemon up against others from around the world, and in the game, PBR is the best medium. I can't call it a perfect game, but for me, I consider it a very well made one, one I consider worth the money I paid for it.

This is my last comment on topics involving how good/bad PBR is. If you don't like it, I ask that you please keep that opinion to yourself, or kindly state it as an opinion. PLease say "I don't like this game because..." not "PBR is a bad game, because..." because it's when opinions are stated as fact like in that second example that the opinions of others get squashed, feelings get hurt, and maturity goes out the window.

Thats not fair at all. There are so many opinions saying 'I like PBR'. Then why are we not allowed to say we don't like it? They don't say "this is an opinion". But no, thats not shoving anything down our throats. Face it, not everybody agree with you guys who likes the game. If you can all say that you love the game freely on an OPEN forum, then others should be able to say they don't like it.

But your right in saying that some opinions are stated immaturely. Or better yet, stated as fact. That shouldn't happen. But then again, even if someone says "I don't like PBR in a nice way", three people will show up to bash that person for hating their favorite game. Not you, specifically but you get the point. Its hard to express an opinion that doesn't match everyone else's.

Saying its for the elite? Thats not right. Are you saying that to be elite, you must have this game? Or only the elite has this game. Or maybe your saying that some elite just so happens to have this game. I hope you meant the third.

You're allowed to say you don't like it, but IMO so far the reasons given for not liking it have been pretty lacking in practicality.

"The graphics aren't good enough." Who the hell are you people kidding? What kind of surreal graphics standards do you have?
"I don't like Typhlosion's flame." Oh please. Who actually USES Typhlosion, seriously?
"Some Pokemon's models weren't updated." Probably because they weren't worth an update. Arcanine is the exception to that, I admit, but come on, people. It's FUR, not flames.
"It's just an accessory to D/P." Which is true, and is why WE LIKE it.
"$50 is too much." Frugal or cheapskate? Not much difference. :P

I normally wouldn't mind no mini-games, but since there isn't much difference in battling rules, I guess I'd say it's lacking.

To me, PBR seems really different than the Stadium games. Stadium had it's regular battle modes, but within those lied rules and regulations that you wouldn't find in the GameBoy games. You can only use tiny Pokemon in the Little Cup? I like that! It adds a new strategic depth to your battling. But is there anything along those lines in PBR? Knockout battling is nice, different, but not along the lines I was looking for.

In all, PBR is just hard-core battling, which is nice, yes, but where are the twists? Since there are none, maybe not none but very subtle twists, that's why I think the lack of mini-games is a minus, not a "oh whatever just let it slide."

I've said this once before, battling regular battles is what I got Pearl for. I wanted to see...something different in PBR.

I agree with you (exept for the price-I think it's too expensive, and I'm not cheap) but remember as stupid as they seem, they are still valid. We can't tell them to get over it, cause we aren't buying it for them.

And graphics to me is a very big selling point. I think they should've been better, despite being on the Wii.
Like I said, this is just me. (Though I shouldn't need to say that, we all know this whole thread is opinion).

EDIT: I didn't notice you said IMO. I'm not saying your wrong in any way, just that I disagree.

I love this game personally. It's a great way to test your pokemon against other people (wi-fi) while you actually face the person. You don't just download, you face them. I am sort of dissapointed in the lack of mini-games, but I don't believe it is the main purpose of stadium games. When I wanted to take a break from battling in the Stadium games, I'd go and play my favorite mini-game, "clefairy says" (at least I think that's what it's called) I used to rule at that game. Anyways, for those of you who want mini-games, just hope that the next wii game of pokemon includes them. I hope they do, and in the mean time, I agree with Ichida about Mario Party 8. It's a great game and worth the money if you have it (mario 8 but so is PBR)
I enjoy that PBR has different types of battles where there are rounds, fortune (spinning wheel to choose pokemon) and the current colleseum I'm on gives twelve random pokemon to choose from. It really requires strategy to win in this game, plus you get to see how great your DP pokemon really are. I believe it's a great addition to the pokemon seris like things, but I am missing the mini-games a bit, but when you're playing the game, you forget all about them because your in a high intesity battle.

"I don't like Typhlosion's flame." Oh please. Who actually USES Typhlosion, seriously?
I use Typhlosion in battles, I got max stats in Sp.atk and Speed in mine so it can do serious demange before fainting.
"People should battle with their favorites"
Karen (elite 4 from gold/silver/crystal versions said that) And I have to agree with that, seriously, people seem to use only the most powerfull ones (metagross, Salamance, etc)because they fit in previous made strategies for victory over the internet.
IMO battling with your favorites is much more fun, and challenging. Your favorites favorites against mine anyone? XD
I think that I'm the only one here that raised all the favorites, and EV trained them too.
I did this with my Typhlosion, my Pidgeot, my Arcanine, etc and I love to use them on battles, and sometimes I win! XD

Back to the topic
IMO (like people asked me to) PBR is good, but only for battling (wi-fi or not) in 3D, but it fails in almost everything else.
So the lack of mini-games isn't a surprise afterall.

I imagine you haven't played much PBR, because Tiny battle IS in there. Sunny Park Colosseum in the post game.

There are also:
survival- Courtyard post game
Trade battle- Gateway post game
stock battle- sunset pre/post game
Random Battle- Neon pre/post game
and more

each stadium also, according to my guide book, has differing effects. Each stadium helps to camouflage certain pokemon, making them harder to hit, and has an effect on moves like Secret power.

BTW, Tiny Battle is worth completing in this game, as doing so unlocks several worthwhile items in the Shop.

I don't think that the lack of minigames is that big a deal.
What I DO think is a big deal, is that all PBR does is make battles 3D,
and they happen to use animations that I can visualize better with this little thing I call "imagination".
Key example: Have a Pokémon use the Dark-type move "Bite".
Now, as I'm sure you'll notice, the Pokémon does not, in fact, bite the defending Pokémon.
Instead, the camera zooms in to the attacking Pokémon's face, and a simple animation plays that shows two sets of teeth, one on top, and one on bottom, which are purple, and close shut.
On the other hand, I could do the same thing in D/P and actually visualize how it would look if my Mightyena bit the arm of my enemy's Machoke.

This is why I'm selling my PBR, but then again, that's just my opinion.
I'm simply stating it so that others who think alike can relate.
As for me, I'm gonna go do something else.
I've been on the computer too long. Peaces.

Typhlosion would be a great Pokemon if it wasn't such a one-trick pony. The only good moves it learns are Flamethrower, Eruption, Solarbeam, and Focus Blast. I don't like Solarbeam due to its charge-up turn giving the opponent a chance to switch in a counter, and Focus Blast is too inaccurate to depend on.
