Whenever I beat Flannery and get the goggles I go to the desert and the Mirage Tower NEVER shows up. Has this happened to anyone else? I have never gotten into it. :(

Please ask simple questions like this in the Simple Questions thread that is stickied to the top.
The Mirage Tower isn't supposed to show up all the time, hence the term mirage. You have to go back and forth from the route until you see it. Typically, I have to go talk to the trainer in front of the first Secret Base tree and go back before I see it. Just keep at it.

Yeah, it'll just appear and disappear as time passes. When I first found it, I noticed the cracks in the floor and I forgot to get a Mach Bike (I had an Acro Bike at the time). When I eventually got it and returned, the tower disappeared. I had to wait a while til it came back.

that happened to me too kraka-chan,it appered,i saw the cracks,and was like "wtf?!i gotta go get mach bike!"then i got it,and then the mirage tower wasnt there XD

That is why you should always choose the Mach Bike. Unlike the Mach Bike, the Acro Bike isn't a needed to advance through any part of the storyline. The only time the Acro Bike is even useful is in the Safari Zone to get to half of the Johto Pokes, and to access a few items on Route 119. Otherwise it is no different than using the Running Shoes without holding B. Pretty useless, imo.
