Misleading Pokemon Intro

    I've been watching Pokemon quite the while now, always noticing the changing of intros. Each new intro usually consist of a catchy theme song, the first one was my fave by the way, a classic, and really cool scenes. But what I noticed was in each theme song it shows some really cool scene, liike on time I saw Ash facing off with Sydney of the Elite four. And I spent weeks andd months waiting for that episode. But what do you know a new season with an even catchier theme and even cooler scenes come out!ANd guess what?! Like an idiot, you already figured I was, waited for that certain episode. And no episode with that scene came out.. ;[ - sniff sniff - Anyone else noticed that or had a similar experience? If so, please reply, I don't wanna be alone.

    I'm going to guess you mean the original openings, right?

    In that case, they usually forshadow things that will come up in the show or is just there to draw attention to it. Can you say a show that didn't do that? Maybe you can, but most shows still do it.

    I say just enjoy the openings and guess things from the actual episode.

    But I've never gotten excited over an opening, so sorry.
     
    Sydney? He didn't face off against Sydney. Well, if you go by the dub, yeah, sometimes, they do use a lot more episode footage. The recent theme is the best example, as they had to, sinc Japan hadn't upgraded theirs.

    Of course, they could have asked OLM for animation, like 4Kids did for their fourth theme. Oh, well.

    Actually, I've always been excited on the OPs, but the fourth one onward really ramped up my interests. Now, the PUSA ones? Not so much, except for the new one.
     
    Sydney hasn't been in an opening. I don't think any of the E4 have, only gym leaders and battle frontier brains. Is Sydney from Hoenn?

    Yeah, he is. Eventually, I think we will cover the Elite Four, or, at least, whenever the show does its final one. Maybe. Heh.

    I was answering your question: yes, he's from Hoenn. But, no, he isn't in any OP, that I know of. Heh.

    Also, I agree with Lugia on the foreshadowing aspects. Sorry for my lateness on that one.

    Oh, they're all misleading. Look at the awesome Giovanni image in Rivals, and how... he never ever showed up in the OI. Hah.

    Very misleading, there.
     
    One of the opening of Japanese version is quite misleading, I thought Butterfree, Primeape and Pidgeot will appear again...

    That was Spurt. Apparently, it was the 10th anniversary opening and the lyrics at the start are about remembering the past, holding his memories something like thay

    Yeh, I have read the translation of the lyrics once, So I was wondering, instead of making them appear beside Ash... why not make Ash like... ummm... thinking about them, their past. And you said it's 10th anniversary, it's more misleading I say... it might mean they would have a reunion. LOL
